about me

i've lived in Nashville TN, Atlanta GA, St. Paul MN, San Francisco CA, and various and assorted cities all over MA but haven't traveled much lately. i'm a 5 ft tall married bisexual poly mom who spends way too much time on line. i have a sharp yet morbid sense of humor and i like very spicy food. i live in a sleepy little town near woodlands and theres a lot of wildlife around. there are a pair of swans, geese, foxes, giant turtles, luna moths, raccoons, and a million frogs and toads. i grew up on a self sufficient farm in TN where we had a cow, goats, horses and we grew most of our own food. now that i live in new england having that kind of lifestyle is a little difficult but i'm trying to stay as green and self sufficent as i can in suburbia. i work for a large financial corporation doing customer service. it's amusing sometimes & i rant about it quite a bit. but it's not a bad gig as far as jobs go & it pays well.

my daughter has been diagnosed by a child psychologist as severe ADHD and severe ODD (opposistional defiance disorder) and they want to change her meds. she started adderall in August and it works to a degree. but not well enough & she responded very badly to an increased dosage of it. so her doctors are now switching her to Concerta which is a 'long acting ritalin'. and it may take several rounds of tweaking to get the dosage right on this. and this may or may not even be the right thing for... read more

so far my new years has begun with a long distant call from a rock star we haven't talked to in almost 2 years
my husband & i are
ALONE!
which almost never happens
we have a nice white wine
good movies
it's lightly snowing
the kitteh is curled up with us
and right now
life is good.
so i have high hopes for 2008.
god knows
we need it after the horror that was 2007.

craziness

things have been a little crazy around here lately. just to keep anyone who reads this up to speed:
1. my daughter started taking addeall for severe ADHD this summer. and it has improved her behavior, as the doctor predicted that it would. but not enough and not entirely. and now we're seeing the emotional/psychological issues that have been hiding under it. again, as the doctor said we would. so now they're talking about another diagnosis or two and different meds. we're in limbo about that... read more

it never ends.

my daughter has been on the adderall. she started of 5mg, then was bumped up to 10mg then to 15mg. everything was going peachy. except for this wee little problem. about twice a week she was having what i fondly refer to as "Exorcist Episodes". at one point involved her punching me in the face, kicking me & biting me. all at the same time. it took both me & my mother to hold her down. once i got her in the car, and was driving, i tried to call my husband to let him know what was going on. tha... read more
