I joined the Dragonflies the summer of 2007, and it's by far one of the best decisions I have ever made. The women I dance with continually inspire and amaze me. Between being juggling motherhood and careers, these women put every ounce they have into their dance, and I feel so fortunate to work with three such passionate, amazing, beautiful artists.

about me
The DragonFlies Dance Company consists of Kandice Grossman, founder, creative director, and main choreographer; Christi Price; Dee Dee Folkerts; and Megan Hartmann. All dancers are level I certified in the Suhaila Salimpour School of Dance, and Kandice is level II certified.
The DragonFlies Dance Company was created in 2005. The DragonFlies perform locally on a regular basis and have performed nationally at events including Tribal Fest, Tribal Revoloution and Venus Envy.
OUR MISSION:
The DragonFlies Dance Company is comitted to artistic excellence in creating, promoting, and performing the art of belly dance and contributing to the evolution of the art form.
We strive to support women's issues through the art of belly dance. Our mission is to empower ourselves through this medium, to build self-esteem and inspire creative self-expression and community action.
In addition, a fusion of diverse disciplines of dance and cultural backgrounds enables us to touch our community with a passion that comes from our live experiences. Collaborating with visual and performing artists of note, the company creates and performs works that contain social, emotional, political, abstract and scientific themes that appeal to a wide audience.
To that end, the DragonFlies perform locally and in surrounding communities throughout the year as well as conducting performances in fully professional atmosphere for corporations, retailers and live-art-related venues.
In seeking to perserve the contemporary dance traditions of its primary inspiration, Suhaila Salimpour, the company is also dedicated to the truthful recreations and reconstruction of significant works by Suhaila Salimpour.
