A virtual 21st century Buckaroo Banzai, Chad Volpe is classically trained pianist, experimental electronic music composer, poet, producer, web designer, software developer, martial artist, swordfighter, and occasional SAG actor & stuntman all at once. Always wearing too many hats but not big on titles, Chad balances developing his music projects BACKBONE and Boxer Rebellion with partner oTis Johnson, managing his music publishing company Bitter Music (BMI), being webmaster for the Society of Composers & Lyricists and other web clients, and his continuing studies in Ninpo Taijutsu and computer science.

He played keyboards for seminal early '90s Los Angeles/Orange County industrial band STG, co-programming and co-producing their 1993 album "No Longer Human", pulled a brief paid stint with Fear Factory playing keyboards during pre-production song development for their album "Demanufacture" and had a BACKBONE song used in an episode of Highlander - The Series.

He arrived in California in 1990 after a failed attempt to move to San Francisco from the east coast and hence lives in Los Angeles after having jumped off the bus in Lancaster in the middle of the night.

Most recently he coproduced, starred in, and composed the award-winning score for oTis (OD23) Johnson's short film "The Silent Razor".
