Strong veil technique is necessary, as well as the ability to learn choreography quickly. Professional experience preferred. Dancers are required to commit to the entire rehearsal schedule, as well as take a weekly technique class with Dalia Carella up until the show. Dancers will receive a small compensation at the end of the performance.

Once you take this workshop with Mariano, you will see how much he can improve and make you feel confident with your turns, especially when using veils (or other props) or just movement in general.

Try to come 15 minutes early for registration. Class will start on time.

About the Workshop:

A hip and edgy Near Eastern Contemporary Choreography will be taught for three weeks using music from Chebi Sabbah's "La Ghriba." New movement vocabulary will be explored stressing line design and technique, creative floor patterns, and using diagonals and transitions to create drama and character in the dance. This choreography will focus on bringing out the dancer's personality, sensuality and ability to entertain an audience at any venue as well as getting the most out of a choreography that can be also used for combinations as well.
