so we have our dear friends fred and judy visiting on our boat right now....they got in on the midnight ferry night before last. I get up in the morning to go to work saying have a nice day before I leave....sandwich calls me right when I get to work frantic. she tells me that there is a pod of 9 humpback whales swimming by our boat! i look down and see a cute little conk shell, pick it up to see if anyone is home. there was but he was way to small to eat so I'm getting ready to throw it back. I then realize that a mere two feet from my feet is a huge ocotpus! some of you know, I dont really celebrate xmas...for a number of reasons...but thats another story. I do enjoy the soltice get togethers they just dont seems to represent all the commercial world market for one.....we had a very nice soltice....sailed our boat to our new anchorage. crew sleep over and party....nice day.

well we went for a sail to the other side of the island for halloween....had a truly great sail, all the sheets out.....as we sailed past the part of the island that my friends house overlooks I called and said look out the window....he didnt even recognize the boat, he said I didnt know Sushi could put out so much sail....sweet boat...so we get around to the other side of the island and the wind is busting 25+ knots with a 6-8ft swell I turn on the engine and come into the wind to take down ...

we got a fair amount of moderate rain but almost no wind. I'm standing on the deck of my friends house having coffee looking at st criox... it's a beautiful day.... man our boat is such a wreck right now....all the hatches screwed shut....all the rigging down ...it is going to take us days to restore things. but I dont mind a bit. thanks for all your concern, this... read more
