Just an observation from your friendly neighborhood "Rhythms for Dancers" teacher:
I overheard a professional belly dancer telling her friend that she feels like she's hit a "plateau" so she's gonna spice up her dancing with a new ($600+) costume. Another pro dancer shared with me that she wants to take her dancing to "the next level" so she's signed up for a Balkan music class (to get the feel of unusual time signatures like 7's & 9's) and will be attending more live music venues with o...

Please bear with me- my rants are few and far between...
Just an observation regarding some of the drumming classes at Pennsic: there's a "first tier" group of obviously qualified teachers (like Raquy, Daveed, Carmine, Nevik, and Sabiety, just to name a few.)
Then there are other folks -like me- who volunteer to teach a class or two.
