If you cross a river enough and get soaking wet enough times, you learn to step on the rocks. Sometimes someone follows you and you gotta loosen the stones.

- Steven Tyler

"For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin. But there
was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first,
some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then
life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my
life." - Alfred D. Souza

Re: Two Person Hoop! (in Hula Hooping) My friend and I perform tandem all the time. Yes, the hoop has to be a bit bigger than usual, however, we started out with our first hoops, which were bigger than most of you use today. As the years go by, we work with smaller hoops, however, bi... read more

Re: Super Wickit? (in Fire Hooping) The disadvantage to the switch mechanism on my SuperHooper hoop is that sometimes someone bumps it, doesn't realize that the lights went on, and the batteries drain. Even with that problem happening at two camping music events, my batteries didn'... read more

Re: taping with mirror tape and other specialty tapes???? (in Hula Hooping) If you are doing what I think you are, you may want to try using a strong clear packing tape over the mirror tape to hold down the bumps and folds. The packing tape also protects the more fragile mirror tape so it will look good and adhere to the... read more

Re: Any thoughts on children's hoops??? (in Hula Hooping) In my experience, every kid is different when it comes to hoop size. Some little ones do best with really small hoops and some like to rock the really big hoops which allow them to move more slowly. As a result, I typically make a variety of siz... read more

For the last couple of years I have noticed, both at home and abroad, a disturbing phenomenon--the plastic bag has and continues to infiltrate all corners of our planet. I have seen, picked up, carried home, and disposed of plastic bags from trees, volcanos, beaches, trails, streets, dogs' mouths, gutters etc... The developed and developing countries that I have visited have one thing in common: clear, pink, blue and green plastic bags line the streets, streams, rivers, and beaches. Beache... read more

Chains of Attachment

A Sufi teaching story tells of the man who visited a great mystic to find out how to let go of his chains of attachment and his prejudices.

Instead of answering him directly, the mystic jumped to his feet and bolted to a nearby pillar, flung his arms around it, grasping the marble surface as he screamed, "Save me from this pillar! Save me from this pillar!"

The man who had asked the question could not believe what he saw. He thought the mystic was mad. The sho... read more

I must share with you all. I just returned from an amazing journey with the girls. 6 of us boarded Serenity Now! and traveled to Nevade, California, Oregon, and Idaho. The people we met were fantastic. Everywhere we went, we seemed to inspire people to reflect upon their present paths. I was really surprised, although I shouldn't have been, by the kindness and love that came our way. My girls rock!
