Everything works

I posted this on the herbal wisdom tribe and thought I would include it here as well.

If this is true and I do believe it is, then how do we make sound decisions for our health? The question I like to ask, is how do I want to get there? What process do I want to go through in order to thrive? Thriving requires a journey and I know personally that I am most interested in nourishing myself and those around me. So my bottom line question no matter what other modalities I enlist is where is the nourishment?

An example of this would be in dealing with a cold or flu, while I may enlist strong immune boosting herbs, I would also eat chicken soup. Without the nourishment stimulating the immune system does not help the body thrive and do it's job, it relies only on the stimulation. I find that when I make sure that nourishment is present, then the body heals more quickly and I am able to to spend time doing the things that I love: gardening, hiking, cooking, eating, kayaking, communing with the natural world and many other things.

The beauty too of nourishment is that I do not have to wait for a disease state to enage in this practice, it is a lifeway, a way of approaching and thinking about the world around me. I often wonder how can I most nourish myself today. So this morning I cuddled in bed with my bog before we got up and then went outside to pick raspberries. I then ate the raspberries with my breakfast, so they nourished me twice.

What about you, what is nourishing you today?
Blessings
Linda

Nourishment
Hi Linda,
I wanted to share what's nourishing me right now as you asked. It's important to nourish the body with food, the heart with love, and the soul with dance! I have to say I like sleeping late sometimes especially on rainy days (like today). It was wonderful to rest on my new bed, snuggling with my beloved cat while listening to the sweet, peaceful, gentle rain outside my window.
Lately, what has been nourishing me is my dance and yoga practice and meeting new friends in the dance community. They're all a bunch of love bunnies as I call them. It's really magical when souls connect through dance and movement. I'm also nourished by the "plant people" as in the plant kingdom. I am currently studying herbalism at David Winston's School of Herbal Studies in Broadway, NJ. WoW! Such incredible information so now I may serve my family and community with such healing practices. My organic vegetable garden and ornamental gardens nourish me very much. I am blessed with much abundance in my life and thank Spirit every day!
Many blessing to you wise woman on the green path.
