about me
I am an herbal educator, herbalist and wild food enthusiast. I am also a home cheese maker. I am a strong advocate for women and encouraging our connection to strong feminine energy and the wise woman tradition.
I found this poem in a book titled The Nature of Healing. I thought some of you might enjoy it.
The Remedies
by Joseph Bruchac
Half on the Earth, half in the heart,
the remedies for all the things
which grieve us wait for those who know
the words to use to find them.
Penobscot people used to make

Enjoy. Fall blessings,

What process do I want to go through in order to thrive? Thriving requires a journey and I know personally that I am most interested in nourishing myself and those around me. So my bottom line question no matter what other modalities I enlist is where is t...

Relocation for mysef as a bioregional herbalist (one who chooses to incorporate the plants that grow nearby) has proven to be an opportunity to connect with new plants on a more intimate level. 5 years ago I moved from the Pacific Northwest to the Midwest.
One of those plants is Monarda fistulosa, commonly known as Bee Balm or wild bergomot. While I grew Monarda didyma in my garden while living in Seattle, I did not harvest very much, as there were only a few plants. I occasionally harve...

I have been watching and studying the information about the flu virus that started in Mexico and is affecting people around the world. I wanted to offer suggestions around prevention as well as care. Prevention is the best first course of action, followed by appropriate treatment. Prevention in my mind includes, not panicking, gathering information, following the safe practices offered by the CDC (listed below) and knowing what plants grow around you that you can use to combat this flu if it ...

Re: New Cornbread Recipes???
(in Backyard Garden Survivalists)
Also what you serve to put on it can make a difference. Cultured butter and/or your favorite jams and jellies can make a difference. And I agree adding sweet corn kernels can be sooo good.
