Studied classical Chinese at UC Berkeley; did arts journalism (mainly music), culminating in writing/editing for EAR Magazine in NYC in late '80s; have lived in Washington, DC since early '90s. Moving to Bhopal to study at Dhrupad Institute (beginning Jan.2007). I'm also a poet and painter.
