The Great Beyond (blog entry) My great aunt died today. This wasn't entirely unexpected: She had terminal cancer, and the doctor said she had six months to live. We just didn't expect it to happen so soon. Don't worry about me. I'm not all that shook up about it. I'm jus... read more

Law of Attraction (blog entry) Yesterday at the Crystal Temple, us initiates did a prosperity ritual for the umpteenth time. I've done so many of these prosperity rituals I've lost count. I've bought many a green-colored candle that says "prosperity" on it, and burned it in g... read more

The Call of Christ (blog entry) Since I came to Portland, I've been immersed in a mish-mash of Eastern religion and New Age spirituality. I'm certainly enough of a neophile to enjoy it, but deep down, I never fully felt like I fit in with it. The spiritual journey I've been on... read more

My Holy Grail (blog entry) I've been on a quest for some time. I've been trying to integrate my spirituality into a modern scientific and rational framework. It's become this obsessive need for it all to make sense. Sometimes I envy those who require no justification for... read more

Boy Scouts and the Illuminati (blog entry) There is an all-male secret society which exists among us. They meet in private and conduct secret rituals. They wear special uniforms, use secret handshakes and signs, and swear oaths of allegiance the cause of the organization. I am speaking,... read more

My great aunt died today. This wasn't entirely unexpected: She had terminal cancer, and the doctor said she had six months to live. We just didn't expect it to happen so soon. Don't worry about me. I'm not all that shook up about it. I'm just feeling reflective about the whole thing. She passed away peacefully. She had been very much at peace with the fact that she was going to die, and had her house in order when the time came. Just as I ascended into Malkuth for another year of Kab... read more

Yesterday at the Crystal Temple, us initiates did a prosperity ritual for the umpteenth time. I've done so many of these prosperity rituals I've lost count. I've bought many a green-colored candle that says "prosperity" on it, and burned it in good faith, fully believing that I would attract prosperity my way. In last night's ritual, we were asked to visualize buckets of money pouring down around us. Now I hate to be a Negative Nancy, but how many times have we done this? Shouldn't we al... read more

Since I came to Portland, I've been immersed in a mish-mash of Eastern religion and New Age spirituality. I'm certainly enough of a neophile to enjoy it, but deep down, I never fully felt like I fit in with it. The spiritual journey I've been on for the past few years began with an entheogen-induced vision of Christ. Since then, even after going to kirtans, decorating my apartment with various idols, learning mudras and mantras, being initiated into a New Age organization(though they shun ... read more

I've been on a quest for some time. I've been trying to integrate my spirituality into a modern scientific and rational framework. It's become this obsessive need for it all to make sense. Sometimes I envy those who require no justification for their faith; those who have no need to logically discern fact from myth, but can simply be in the moment and take comfort in their faith in God. Or maybe I could be equally comfortable as a non-believer who dismisses it all as primitive superstitio... read more

There is an all-male secret society which exists among us. They meet in private and conduct secret rituals. They wear special uniforms, use secret handshakes and signs, and swear oaths of allegiance the cause of the organization. I am speaking, of course, about the Boy Scouts. They use secret symbols to convey their sinister purpose. Their emblem includes the fleur-de-lis, a symbol of royalty, indicating their intent to topple our democracy and set up a monarchy of the elite. On top of ... read more
