Wow veterinary science is one heck of a giant academic/work experience mountain to climb!!! If it wasn't bad enough having to get over 90% in your A-levels, there's the Biomedical Admissions test, 10 weeks of work experience and a 45 minute interview! You know when you start having stress dreams and realising that you're more than likely to say something stupid like, "I want to be a vet because i don't like people..." lol Mum suggested I make a joke about her not being able to afford the vet bills.......hmm, i can hear the nervous laugh ringing in the silence as they just stare back at me right now lol. Apart from that though it's going really well. I get my january results on thursday so we'll see just how well and I start lambing on Saturday after the vets so I'm really excited!!!!! It's taking over my life but I suppose I have to expect that I guess. Maybe that's why vets have a high suicide rate lol?

I finally feel like my life is starting to normalise a bit. It's been really hectic the last couple of months. I've been to America by myself which was a really big step for me and gone back to college which was another, my sister had a baby and my job came to an end. But.....I survived, I stood up for myself for once to my boss and I'm still surviving! College is going surprisingly well actually. I'm studying Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Philosophy and Critical Thinking. The first couple of weeks were tough because I've not done any of these subjects for three years and you just don't realise how much you forget and how your mind gets out of the habit of learning but it's coming back and I'm really glad I decided to go for it. I'm still getting this weird reality thing though that I kept experiencing whilst in America where I don't feel connected to myself. It's like I'm observing another person who happens to be me and like I'm not actually there in my body......lets hope I'm not losing the plot!

Well my sister finally popped! I can now say I am the EXTREMELY proud Aunty of my tiny cute adorable little bundle of tears and poop, Bailey! He's so adorable I can hardly contain myself lol. He was born at 5pm on the 18th sep, weight was 7lb 5 and he has certainly rocked the family boat! Three cheers for my sister who did the whole thing on gas and air....ouch!

I'm off on my American Vacation!

Kinda ready, not remotely packed yet, extremely nervy, extremely excited and extremely in need of a leg wax before I go! My boss is being the nicest person on the planet to me, I've got enough money to go to America, I've just booked my appointment with the tattoo artist and I'm off to Raqs Britannia tomorrow! Plus I've got some of the loveliest friends and acquaintances on this Earth. Even the rain can't make me miserable!

At work today I went to collect my usual salad from the deli down the road. Sat down, was on the phone whilst munching away when suddenly......my salad moved! There was only a bloody maggot in it eating it's way through my mixed leaves and sunblush tomatoes! So i do the "obvious" thing and put it in a plastic cup but don't have anything to seal it with so roughly stick a piece of paper over the top so I can take it back to the deli. So i'm in there waiting for the customers to leave so I can discreetly tell him what happened but they keep on coming in, let alone that the wriggly thing escapes from the cup so I'm standing in the corner of the shop, fiddling around with a maggot, some paper and a cup whilst trying to not look conspicuous although failing miserably, trying to get the damn thing back in. Then I drop all my keys on the floor so by this time everyone's staring at me and the initial idea of "discreetly" mentioning what my strange cup contains goes completely out the window. I've got this feeling that they all thought I was completely nuts........odd that isn't it :op

So I made a Chocolate cake for my Step-Dads birthday... What started out as a simple chocolate sponge turned into: Chocolate sponge filled with buttercream icing mixed with melted milk chocolate and white chocolate, three melted caramel mars bars, then topped with more melted milk chocolate, white chocolate swirls, more choccie buttercream, mint aero bubble things and to finish.......sprinkled with broken up Galaxy flake. So, has anyone got the munchies because there's plenty to spare! No-one can manage a whole piece...

Hurray for America! My flight is booked and paid for so I can officially scream solidly for the next 2 months! That's until I get lost over there which I have a funny feeling is going to happen... Started my extra job doing some bar work, certainly was interesting seeing as I don't drink and haven't got a clue was a sherry schooner is! Plus digital tills *groans*. It was fun anyway, some really nice people so it wasn't too bad. Will probably do me some good being around loads of people my age as they scare me into "anti-socialness" most of the time lol. As for last weekend, our troupe Bodhaia were invited to dance and do small workshops over the two days for a festival in Sherwood Forest with our juggler pals. On the way there, Nicola's sat nav decided to direct us at 50mph down a giant pothole which demolished the front wheel.....We still managed to get there on time-ish with N's wheel changing abilities although covered in mud and car oil but hey, it wouldn't be a proper adventure without a bit of chaos thrown into the mix! Even though we forgot our suncream on the hottest of weekends and ended up looking like hybrid lobsters, it was a blast and I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say we would be more than happy to do it again. So that's my waffle over with. For now.......

So I went to my second interview this morning.....I think it went well, at the beginning I think she was inclining towards a no but by the end (and after a serious amount of blagging and strategic buzz sentences) she started talking as if I was going to be there. She decided to show me round and was saying stuff like "Here is where you will have maths, Here's where you'll do biology" and fetching me an Adult Learner Fund application....So I take that as a good sign but I won't hang my hopes on it just incase. Thanks for all your support everyone! Your positive thoughts certainly helped :o) P.S. Apparently I'm a VERY mature student....Talk about giving people complexes, I'm only 18! Here's to old age!!!!!

I'm stressed at the moment anyway but as some of you know; I have applied to go back to college to do my A levels so I can go study Veterinary Science at Uni. I have really good grades from my GCSE's so the college were very interested and at my interview the vice principle said he would personally recommend me. I've had some problems with attendance in the past at my last college and ended up not finishing my course which I told them about. The course was in Acting but I lost my confidence and had a bit of depression which wasn't helped when the teachers kept cancelling lessons without telling anyone. I had to travel 5 hours on a bus to get in so you can imagine it made me a bit despondent about going in. So I left. Since then I've found Tribal and that has nurtured my confidence along with my creative desire but I realised that I really wanted to follow my previous ambition of becoming a vet. To get to the point, I hadn't heard back from the college on whether I got in so I rang and found out that my old tutor hadn't even bothered to get back to them with a reference for over 6 weeks and that was holding it up. I got a call today to say that she finally contacted them and that her reference has raised some "concerns" and could I come back for another interview with a different teacher..... I know it is going to be about my attendance but don't I deserve the chance to turn my life around??? It's been nearly two years since college, I'm a different person on a completely different path but my past seems to keep haunting me. Wouldn't it be better to get a reference from an employer who knows how reliable I am right now and not two years ago when I was 16? What should I do? I feel completely let down by my last college and kicked in the teeth again. What's going to be the best approach at this interview, anyone got any advice? I'm panicking to death and don't really know what to do...
