ginger is my favorite spice.
my favorite root.
she is bold and spicy sweet
but subtle...
ginger gives me energy,
warms me up and makes me want to dance!
ginger is comforting (great in a hot toddy!)
and refreshing as a cool dip at a secret spot
on the Sandy river...
Ginger can't be masked by any other spice-
if she's there, you know it,
no matter if she"s the top note
or the warmth that integrates us all together.

Meeting Genevieve brought to mind some other momentous meetings (oh, the stories!) but was eminently practical -- the girl is dynamite with power tools and seems to have a knack for a cold beer at the right time.
She is a Little Sister, a Goddess of Cold Beverages and obviously a damned fine human being. 'Vieve la Mexico!

there is this moment when you're in genevieve's presence where you realize that you have been lulled into a warm snuggly place in your soul that you didn't know was there just by the sheer comfort of being around her. and then you stop and take stock and know that you are in the presence of a force to be reckoned with. i think that genevieve may be a joy ninja. or a secret agent for the light side of the force.

stunning, soft, wild and giving! one of my gifts of this lifetime is standing beside her and bearing witness to her unfolding. this one will not become herself by accident and you should know our world is a better place for having her in it. she is confidant, confessor, partner in crime and sister, but above all that she is a very good friend.

i'm having one of those days where it's pouring the rain and i'm wondering what the hell i'm doing out here. i knew that getting your phd was a lot of work, but there seems to be less point than there was before. i love where i live, the people around here, and my work, but i can't figure out if it makes a difference.
is it better to write studies, do research for years and years and hope to instigate some sort of change or to live your life "selfishly" but wholeheartedly in love with ever...
