I feel so free right now because I have decided to start weaning Hendrix after his 1st Birthday. He is loving new foods, and I am loving my new freedom. I am realizing how really stressful and demanding of a job it was to be sure he was well fed through my body. I have so much to jump up and down for right now. I have a beautiful and loving son, a beautiful and loving husband. It has been a rollercoaster of a year and 9 months, including the difficult pregnancy, heart surgery for Hendrix, and just staying afloat in general. They say the 1st year of having a baby is the hardest, as is the 1st year of marriage. So, I feel Fuzz and I can make it through anything after being what we have been through. There is so much to be grateful for and to jump up and down for. Hendrix is now 1 month and 3 days old. Hard to believe it was over a month ago that this little precious ball of love came out of me. He continues to grow and I continue to learn so much from him! He is the cutest ever. I have to say I was surprised at how cute he is! Laboor only took 7 hours total. We went to a party that night and I had a feeling that that night was the night! Mother's intuition :-) AFter the party we came home and my water broke so we calmly got a bag together and drove to the hopsital. I walked in and said I think I may be inlabor. The nurse checked and confirmed I was in fact dilated and more water came pouring out. Contractions started slowly then mounted up to the most intense, but beautiful pain I will ever feel. Laboring and contracting went on for about 5 more hours when I decided that I wanted and needed an epidural, the pain was just too much. I was almost fully dilated at that time. Less than an hour later the midwife decided it is time for me to start pushing. That was the most amazing, empowering moments of my life. I will never forget it. Right away Fuzzball could see his head coming out. Knowing this as well as the midwife telling me that I am a great pusher was all the encouragement i needed. wel of course wanting so badly to see my baby finally was the ultimate encourafgement for such a strong will to push. Out came Hendrix! 30 min later of pushing was all it took. immediately i found myself saying i want my baby, where's my baby? the drs were so great at instantly laying him on my chest. Hendrix immediately went for my breast and sstarted sucking away. wish it were that easy now. Latching on has been difficult, but i am confident that we will soon dance ourselves into each other. I am so blessed and amazed at the amount of love one can have for another. I love him sooooo much!!!! i can't thank Argon enough. Words cannot even explain what he did for me.
