Don't you just hate this question....what about me? who am I? What do I do? I can answer this in a hundred different ways depending on the day, time, mood, etc. So let me 'splain....no there is too much, let me sum up.

My name is Lisa, or Alleahnna if I am on the playa or playing online. I work as a geotechnical engineer, so I spend hours in front of the computer or in the lab or at construction sites working with soil. They pay me to play in the dirt, or else tell someone else how they should do it. I spend way too many hours at this but I try to cram a lot of other activities into the rest of my time. When I get a little time, I am also a massage therapist, but it has become purely for friends and family in the last couple years, not that they complain.

I come home at night to my fiancé (who is the best thing to come into my life and very romantically asked me to marry him on New Year’s Eve this year) and two very spoiled, very adorable cats, Beanie and Pixel. When I am not busy with Mike or being a slave to the cats, I love to make jewelry and dance and make plans for the next burning man.

I started dancing almost four years ago, cabaret style, and then tried a class a little closer to home that was tribal style, with Peggy and Kim, and I knew I had found a true love. Although with learning the zils, I have some very unhappy kitties at home.

I have been beading for years, but really started taking classes and expanding my experience in the last year. I am actually selling pieces now and getting orders that are taking more and more time to fill, but it is exciting. I have found another love in working with metals, whether it is base metals or sterling silver, give me a hammer and torch and I am in heaven. Now add precious metal clay and polymer clay, plus the fused glass Mike makes, well, the possibilities are endless. There is an awesome bead shop in Coopersburg, PA called My Fathers Beads and it has become my second home. The women there are incredible and I love the classes.

So recently, I decided I would start playing with making jewelry for the dancing….great way to combine both passions and I am having fun playing. And that brings me to my last thing, burning man. I went with Mike for the first time two years ago and can't wait for my third year. I love camping at the Blue Oasis and Strip Jeopardy and all the people there. I am already working on costumes for this year as well as jewelry I make for camp mates and others. I volunteer with Ice as well as helping out here and there and I love it. Two burns last year as well as the lunar eclipse was incredible and I can't wait to see what this year brings.
