We're off to Florida again- we shall indulge Stevens fantasy of being well-off American suburban dwellers, staying in a rented house with pool & jacuzzi rather than at a hotel at the beach. The last couple of weeks, a couple of odd things occured. Last week I was in the kitchen around 8:30 pm, I thought I saw a cat in the garden in my peripheral vision, but when I actually looked it was a fox! It was sniffing around my like a dog, but also slinking with a sneaky gait.Now the garden is entriely fenced and in the middle of suburbia, though there are woods not far, so how did it get there? Yes, the Charnwood fox is a mascot for our region, but I did not expect a back yeard visit!

Pretty much a non-event here, but I am wearing my American flag shirt and shall eat some watermelon and Driscoll strawberries(from California!) today.No barbecue since we're out to dinner with friends tonight, though I wish I could see the fireworks. Happy 4th to you!

Two days ago I was reminded that I cannot get away with anything...first of all I got a speeding notice in the mail, apparently a camera had caught me going 36 in a 30 zone just a couple of days after my birthday.It had to be me because of the time & place.The notice came addressed to Steven , since the car is in his name, who is legally required to rat me out, there's a huge fine if he would fail to say who was driving.
