I have been using simple homemade solar cookers for several years now to cook (when the sun does finally come out in Oregon). What an amazingly simple technology. I think it's really cool that I can use the free energy of the sun, recycled cardboard, tin foil and second hand pans to cook many of my meals, and desserts! I bought a new used car recently. It gets 53mpg/city and 58 mpg/hwy. I've never been one to talk about my car before, but unfortunately this one is special. I say unfortunately because the possibility exists to make this car the norm. Obviously we need to find alternative ways of getting ourselves around, and no amount of burned gas is good for the environment. But check this out, my Geo was made back in 1989! Imagine how much less gas would be burned if we in America were using technologies...

Can you believe i grew it all, except for the tofu? This yummy lunch includes red cabbage kraut, bean and carrot kimchee, vine ripe tomatoes, and purple and red potatoes with mixed veggies in a chili garlic sauce. All grown in my front yard! Delicious!
