I'm glad to be in the thick of projects that have no immediate end. It's like a filter that mercifully seperates and defines my attention from the chatter and noise. I am too busy for my familiar existential moments. I have new mentors to guide me...

I cleaned the puke off my couch just after breakfast at the Paradox. Last night's fifth Big House party was another rager. It's always amazing to me how many people you can fit in one house if you just tell all your friends that you are going to have a gigantic party and get some kegs. Music helps a lot. Not doing my homework can be the most productive of all endeavors. I get all sorts of stuff out of the way that I would never think to do, were it not for the sheer procrastinating urge to make a new playlist or clean my room, do some laundry, stare at my tongue in the mirror...or post to this thingy. I got sick this weekend after school forced me to stay up for way too long. Midterms. So I bought me some Nyquil TM and slept for a good 16 hours on Friday. I wake up to find my junkie aquainten...

The lazy grey light spilling into the Portland Coffee House on Belmont is telling me to settle into another Northwestern winter. It's a lie that I am having a difficult time disbelieving. Despite all of the preparations for the bike event in Cambodia, it remains remote. Before me more clearly are the several papers and lab reports I will be consumed with writing and my Chemistry final (which looms ominously). It's easy to focus on all the random details that need to be addressed, like the alw...

I'm glad to be in the thick of projects that have no immediate end. It's like a filter that mercifully seperates and defines my attention from the chatter and noise. I am too busy for my familiar existential moments. I have new mentors to guide me through an alien terrain of scientific culture and experimentation. It feels strange to lust for knowledge in so many different directions. Only through conscious effort am I able to convince myself that a unique and valuable body of experience will...
