Bloody Tuesday! For weeks I have been trying to get back to my dance class and every Tuesday something comes up! Today's effort was pretty good. The train broke down in the platform, so after waiting for over an hour and getting chilled to the bone, I called work to say I wasn't making it to work. And if I don't go to work I don't go to dancing. Bollocks.

I'm still working on that belt! I removed all the tassels that were already on it (because they were really scrawny and didn't fly) and replaced them with lovely silky multicoloured bamboo fibre tassels. I have also added some more shisha mirrors, embroidered around the mirrors and added a bit of extra beading. So much colour!

On Thursday it was my adorable kitten's birthday. She had a spoonful of clotted cream for her tea, and we gave her a hammock that sits over the radiator. She thought that was pretty good - just wait until the central heating is turned on in a couple of months! We'll need a crowbar to pry her out of it.

Today I bought a thimble. Mob cap and pince-nez will surely follow... but yesterday I was working on my brightly coloured door-hanging hip belt, and really struggling to get the needle through, so I decided that I had to get a thimble. You know how you always get told to practice in your costume before the day? I understand why now. I was playing dressups (because this 35 year old has the heart of a 4 year old) and put on full tribal regalia for the first time. And then went into the garden to dance. Has anyone ever actually weighed an ATS performance costume? I didn't even have my zills on and I could hardly lift my arms above my head! Still - I think it looks good!
