For Orien Rose

Orien Rose is a miracle. She is a nine year old girl who, just over a year ago,
was in a horrific boating accident. There was skull, facial, and brain injury.
Really bad stuff. Tomorrow morning, Tuesday, June 24th, she is having surgery,
and we are looking for as many people on this earth as possible to simply think
of her, and send positive energy.

from the other day. Orien is an exuberant and hilarious kid, and the interviewer
doesn't even mention how she burped the entire alphabet for him.

If she were doing only half as well as she is, the doctors would still be
baffled by the speed and thoroughness of her recovery.

She is alive, well, and burping today due to teams of skilled and dedicated
paramedics, doctors, nurses, and therapists, the fierce dedication of her
parents, and the power of community. Orien Rose has been prayed for by
Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, and Santeros, she's received energy from
witches, Reiki masters, and anyone willing to simply hold a positive image in
their minds for a moment.

Tuesday morning she faces the final hurdle: Replacement of the missing portion
of her skull; a coordinated effort by neurosurgeons, plastic surgeons, and
infection control specialists. AND by the people who've been sending her
positive energy of myriad forms for this past year.

Orien, her father, asks that people put a reminder on their alarm clock. A
reminder to just think about Orien Rose when you wake up. They check into Hasbro
Children's Hospital in Providence, R.I. at 6:30 AM (eastern time) and the
procedure begins an hour or so later, and it will go on awhile, so whatever time
you get up will be fine.

Fires Rising!

And even before I am at FSG I'll be at Fires Rising at 4QF! Looks like the first 2 weeks of June are taken care of! Three nights of alchemical fire magic! Plus a day or so before and after. Then straight to FSG. Whew! I'm going to be flying high on community spirit by Solstice!

Dr. Gruntler Incroyable Gestalt here just saying that I will be at FSG this year and on staff. I'll be the gatekeeper one night for the Alchemical Fire and I'll be tending fire at the sweats. And I'll be trying to have a generally good time while not trying to lose my mind, just my lead. Looking forward to the retreat with the colleagues.

Books, I have books,

and they are being offered up to you. If you would like to peruse the titles, you may arrange with me to do so. All are free. Lot's of sci-fi fantasy and some other unusual choices. After a week or so, I will free-cycle or book-thing the rest or donate to my parents condo.

(PS: the books in the photo are not from my shelves but rather were found on a bookshelf at a film shoot site. And yes, the book was basically your standard Dick and Jane and Spot kind of early children's book. But the cover and the title.... It was one of a series!)

...a rare and precocious combination of very rosemary crackers followed by a fish and truffle thin-chowder. Center Trio to include fish baked with truffle oil, scallions and nutmeg; a bright massaged kale and apple salad dressed with lemon juice, english mustard, g & g, sesame oil and toasted pepitas; gejost norwegian cheese shaves on warm, thick multigrain bread. Enjoy with short beer or warm cider (hard or soft).

...What!?! Soul Fire Inside? Again!?! Yes folks, friends, fearless, funksters and fun monkeys! Soul Fire Inside is happening again this Saturday, May 10th, at Seeker's Church. See one of my many other posts for more information on location etc. Set up from 3:30pm to 6:30pm. Then potluck! Then Soul Fire from 8:00pm until 11:00pm! Help clean up after and receive blessed gratitude! Hope to see you all there!

Also, save the July 4th weekend for Sacred Soul Fire, now closer than last year in the Frederick, MD area!

the more you have an illusion of control, the more you are simply playing the game of illusion. ask the lecherous holy man how he can stand it and then we will only begin to understand a state of grace and joy. i open all the time, i seek strength, i shunt fear. "i will not fear. fear is the little death that brings total obliteration. i will face my fear. i will allow my fear to pass through me and around me. and when my fear has passed, i will turn my minds eye to its path. and there, nothing will remain but i." how do you balance that with not freaking out the world? how do you practice that without blinding everyone with the fiery glow of truth? how do you tell people how you feel about them and not be afraid that they will shirk from your words and scream things at you like, "no! go away! leave me alone! you disgust me! i thought so much better of you and the world before you told me that!" ha! only human! not a minor deity! and yet...i/you/we are god. we encompass all things as we are encompassed by all things.
