about me
I was once a creative director and graphic designer in the fashion world of New York City with occasional gigs in LA. I never thought or imagined I would leave that life until one day, not long after 9-11, I got the phone call that my mother was terminally ill. I spent the next 9 months in Detroit devoted to taking care of her. That experience inspired me to give up my apartment in Manhattan and leave the City life that I once knew to pursue my new dream of becoming a physician. It's been over 5 years in the making between pre-med prerequisites (organic chemistry was not an elective at art school :) and the rigorous coursework of naturopathic medical school. I am now on the home-stretch to becoming a licensed NMD (Naturopathic Medical Doctor) and will be finishing up within months... I'm currently completing my internship at the SCNM Medical Center in Scottsdale, AZ.
WHAT IS NATUROPATHIC MEDICINE?
Integrative health care that combines conventional medicine with eastern and natural philosophies and treatments.
WHO ARE LICENSED NATUROPATHIC DOCTORS?
Primary care physicians trained as specialists in natural medicine. While they are trained in conventional medicine with prescription privileges, they are the only primary care physicians clinically trained in the use of all the following treatments: clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, homeopathic medicine, physical medicine, oriental medicine, acupuncture, lifestyle counseling, stress management, natural childbirth, and minor surgery. Licensed Naturopathic Medical Doctors receive their education from a four-year accredited naturopathic medical school with internships and residencies and must pass a series of rigorous professional national board exams in order to become licensed.
