Shiva invites you to Triple your Fun, Triple your Fire, and Triple your Participation! In anticipation of our most hippiest, jammiest, foodiest Shiva Vista Project fundraiser thus far, you won't want to miss this exciting and very USEFUL event on April 19th! Not only will we be filling your bellies with yummy BBQ'd foods and snacks, but we will be nourishing your souls and spirits with fun and enlightening workshops for poi and staff spinning, and hula hooping! AND, inside there will be live bands (including Nick Ramirez and Astronot, Sleepy Sunshine, Buster Blue, and Session) as well as outside live drummers to help create a comfortable and groovy atmosphere for you to enjoy in tribal unity. ALL are welcome into Shiva's warm embrace. Other reasons we celebrate include: ~Jub Jub Camp with its usual Monkey Business ~ the Canon twins' 30th birthday (yeah! Dirty thirty!) ~ of course, the coming of the unofficial, international 4/20 holiday! ~ and, what we have been so anxious to share...FIRE!!! Come in your Shiva finest (meaning whatever you are inspired to present for Shiva's honor), you rejuvenated, renewed, ready-to-groove souls! Also, we HIGHly encourage you to reuse your “playa cups” you got at Yuri's night! It IS Earth day, you know! Workshops for poi, staff, and hula-hoop are available for an extra donation of $10, taught by local dance/fire performers and members of Controlled Burn! AND, as the sun sets, Controlled Burn fire performers will toast up the evening with tribal fire spinning and live local drummers. Bellydancers and tribal musicians are welcome! So, WHAT did she say? okie dokie, Reno HOOPERS! Whether you HAVE the skills and just want the fresh air, exercise, and to share some fun trix and friends, or if you WANT the skills and are ready to come out from the cover of winter into a HOOPY new spring, I am ready for it! EVERYONE has been asking for it. Let's HOOP! We decided that Wingfield park down by the Truckee would be a great place to meet. We can convene at the grassy seating area of the stage, meander across Arlington to the point where there is a sunny flat pad with open river view beyond, or we can twirl about and create a little hooping parade if we like! The possibilities are endless, I think! The thing will be the long-anticipated Reno Whirlaround Hoop workshop! The date will be Saturday, March 22, 2008. The place will be at Wingfield Park down by the river. The time will be 12:30pm-ish until we all fall down dizzy! My first attempt to create synthetic hall falls, just for the fun of it, and for an upcoming show/costume combo. I am looking forward to seeing how the white shows under black light. You can't tell in this photo, but there is a smidge of dark purple in there too. Thanks to Lacy for helping me braid - saved me at least 3 hours of work!! Next, I will post pix of the stilt covers I am current'y working on.

what I did this afternoon. We got the pictures on the right from Sam Erikson, the director of Okonokos, a concert video of My Morhing Jacket shot live at the Fillmore in November 2005. They were taking pictures of attendees who were costumed which they made into a slideshow on the DVD. The poster on the left is from the last show we attended, New Years' Evee 2006 at the Fillmore. The Okonokos 20 dollar "bill" was what fell from the ceiling at midnight. The symbolic details are great on the bill.

right here whenever I want it. i am back at the usual place I live. what a wild and weird extrication from the playa this year. i had what i think was the best burn of my life. i performed before the man. i played, painted, danced, rode, watched, bounced, jiggled, swayed, swooned, pet, fondled, loved, lost, cried, smiled, poi-ed, climbed, furred, purred, glowed, spanked, got spanked, ate (a little), drank (some more), drugged (too much!), cleaned (if you can't believe it, come see me wipe off that table ONE MORE TIME next year!), beaded, hugged, kissed, sang, and just had a good-ole time. now i decompress. yes, it is that time. it will pass. for now, at this moment, i find i can think of nothing really meaningful to do. so i sit and look at pix and think and clean and put away and think and sit and sleep (thank goodness - notice it wasn't in the list above!?) and COUGH. can't shake this cough...damn. but it is good. really. all things will settle into their places. as will i.
