about me
I'm an Ordained Minister, Magus, Mistress, and Doctor of Metaphysics with the Universal Life Church. My main interest is in magic. It always has been. I don't think that will ever go away. I've read tarot professionally for more than ten years at such places as Portland Saturday Market, at Last Thursdays, at Mother Earth Magick and at Another Moon when they were alive. I'm now in training as an Apprentice Teacher with the Circle of the Seven Sacred Oaks.

Just recently we saw the re-election of a president and a defeat of a contender. During this campaign, I watched something that I never thought would happen.
As if I haven't been deeply disappointed with Christianity already, the Protestant Chris...

Milestone
(blog entry)
I guess I'm at a major milestone in my life. No major Saturn returns or anything that I know of at the moment, but instead some conversations and a little test I took online to make me stop and do some deep thinking.
For a long time I've told peo...

It's been a while since the oil spill, but while it was happening, I was doing a musical review on music that conflicting fans considered goth. It wasn't long before I had to ask myself, "What is goth?" because in a lot of cases, the bands were s...

As if I haven't been deeply disappointed with Christianity already, the Protestant Christian leadership gave me even more to disillusion me even deeper than before with them. This past election, they did what I thought was the unthinkable...not only did they focus on the Republicans for their hopes, even though they far from represent t...

For a long time I've told people that I couldn't stand New Age or hippie thinking or beliefs on life. The hippie thing I dropped by the wayside after I got back from the Rainbow Gathering in Montana in the Summer of 1999. That Rainbow Gathering was my first and, to date, the las...

The mystique of genie rings, bottles and lamps, magic potions, charms, cloaks, and even when you consider not just Authurian legends and Greek myths, but also stories from the Bible and the Koran, the mystique of the school of the prophets, miraculous events, and words of power were very attractive.
Kids play make-believe games using their imaginations to act like superheros, warn each other about black cats and cracks on the ground, pre...

It's been a while since the oil spill, but while it was happening, I was doing a musical review on music that conflicting fans considered goth. It wasn't long before I had to ask myself, "What is goth?" because in a lot of cases, the bands were so dissimilar in that they sounded more post-punk than goth, more metal than goth, more beatnik than goth, etc.
During that time, one of the first songs I ran into was "Black Planet" by the Sisters of Mercy. When it first came out back in the day, I...
