Eternal Spring '08

Come join us in a celebration of art, magic, and creation on Feb 9, 2008 in the "ETERNAL SPRING 08" Fashion Show and Performance Bazaar at SOMARTS Bay Gallery. This is a non-profit event to support and help promote local artists, designers, and performers. The event will run on Saturday from 2pm to 10pm, and the party is from 10pm until late. In the daytime, find gifts, listen to great music and join free yoga, martial arts, hoop, and poi classes from 2 to 5pm. Performances start at 6, culminating with a fashion show at 7:30. Come, share, meet cool people, and have fun! This is also a great chance to buy a special gift for your special someone the weekend before Valentines and share with them the magic of local culture and art.

Although the show winds up at 10 pm, the afterparty is about to start! Featuring sets by some of the greatest DJs of the San Francisco underground, including Kode IV, DJ Rooz, DJ Mojo, Aaron Jae of Evil Breaks fame(11pm - midnight), DJ Flook and DJ Partizan, the afterparty starts at 11pm and will last until 4am. Bring your best moves, your friends, and a case of red bull. The door after 11pm is $15, but the ones early to the party get a free ride into the night.

Comprised of Andrew Phelan, Cubik, Origami, and Compulse, these men are no strangers to the underground scene. Separately, they are well respected for their individual skills, but together they form a Live PA goliath designed to get that jello jigglin. This Bay Area foursome have been know to cause mass confusion on the dance floor with their multiple drum machines, knob fiddling, and general lap-top freakery. The Fingermonsters are a four man militia whose mission is to breaks hearts, and incite hysteria.

AMB was responsible for one of the most remarkable breakbeat tracks of 2002, ’Romeo’, which obtained second place on Breakspoll, The International Breakbeat Awards, best single category in 2003. DIVERTED are DJ/Producers and Label Owners Stephen Baxter and Lee Richardson. They have produced a string of well received releases on Sokolov Sounds, TCR and AIR which helped them find their grounding in the breaks scene. This has also spurred the guys on to creating their album which is being put together hand-in-hand with an exciting live show involving vocalists, live instruments from the guys themselves and contributions from other Djs and artists around them including Nine Lives the Cat. The last year has taken them all around the world Djing their sound to the masses. Particularly memorable nights have been at the infamous HUM events, Drop Beats Not Bombs, Chew the Fat @ The End, Breakspoll @ Fabric, Glade Festival and tours of Australia and Russia saw appreciation for the boys outside the UK.
