I'm a scientist and a total geek. I enjoy all sorts pastimes like reading, playing video and board games, and solving puzzles. On a less geeky note, I try to stay pretty active by rock climbing, backpacking, and playing tennis.

I'm currently working at a laboratory, providing simulations for the largest laser fusion experiment in the world. We're hoping to have fusion ignition and yield in the next couple of years, so there is lots of work to do.

Quite a few people say that I should use less of this space talking about my work and more of my space talking about my passions. The problem with that sentiment is that I have a great deal of passion for my research in scientific computation. I have a love for mathematics and physics as they are means to study the structure and beauty of the universe. I have a hope that scientific inquiry will guide humanity to a brighter future where scarcity and famine are problems long past. In short, I believe in the scientific process and I want to be a part of that process.
