Raq Mundi is a Cabaret Tribal (Tribaret) Style Belly Dance Company. We are based in Wilson, North Carolina. The company is composed of long time dancers, new dancers and student dancers with a wide range of ages.
Raq Mundi draws on a variety of cultures for our inspiration. The influences of Middle Eastern, North African, East Indian and Central Asian costumes and dance forms can be seen. Our style draws strongly a mix of traditional belly dance, but includes elements of modern dance along with our own artistic vision. This combination of traditional movement and music and modern innovation gives Raq Mundi's performances an exotic and ancient feeling and a powerful, mesmerizing presence.

Nearly 200 people from as far as Virginia & Wilmington enjoyed this year's "Shimmy for a Cause". Soloists & Groups from around the area entertained the crowd for 2 hrs. with 100% of the proceeds benefiting The American Heart Association.

To help spread the fun of bellydance and to help raise a few more dollars for "The American Heart Association" we are offering vendor tables at this year's "Shimmy for a Cause" on Saturday, March 29 in Wilson, NC. Vendor tables will be $25.00 for one table and $45.00 for two with 100% of the proceeds going to this worthy cause.
