I'm such a Skip groupie. I will end up almost anywhere he spins. I'd gush a bit more but I don't want him to get too big of an ego :)

We're gathered here to say a few words about our friend, Skip M. We called him Crasher. I'd just like to say that...he was a, uh, a good surfer...and a really great guy. He had a nice cutback...rode the nose real well.
He was kinda screwed up, the way he treated women, but always got the one he wanted. So it doesn't matter anyway 'cause he was just a real good guy all around. He'd always give people waves....just give 'em a wave. He'd always stick up for his friends in a fight. Wasn't worth a damn but he....always right in there. I don't remember a big day when Crasher wouldn't go out and ride with his friends. Crasher was our friend. A little part of us. And we're gonna miss him when he's gone. - Matt Johnson -

At the end of a movie on TV- after you've suffered through two hours of commercials just so you can find out what that song was or who played that part, they squish the credits off to the side and roll them twice-as-fast so you can't possibly read them or hear the soundtrack, just to make room for a fucking promo you've already seen 15 fucking times. 2. People who swear in public. 3. People who spit in public. 4. People who yawn without covering their mouth. 5. People who wear too much cologne / perfume. Why does every personal hygiene product have to be scented? When someone walks by, you shouldn't be able to smell them. It's like they're crop dusting. "Beyond this point there be dragons."

Finally rented all the 2008 films I felt I needed to see before coming up with my final Top-5 lists for the year. Usually I start a Top-5 list in Nov and then normally most of those get knocked off the list, one by one, by the late releases. Not this year. My Top-5 from Nov stayed intact. Was it a weak year or did the best films just get released earlier than usual?

Why can't all weekends be like that? Seems like it's either feast or famine and last weekend was simply a wealth of riches. It started Thursday night at 84, continued with a fun B'day party (not mine) at Catalyst Friday night with DJ Danny White spinning, and then on to the real highlights.

So, it was recently announced by the members of Led Zeppelin, that they are planing a possible album and tour without Robert Plant. WTF?!? Not that I'm a big Led Zep fan or anything, but that just isn't right. Can't we pass a law or something that prohibits this sort of thing? And while I'm on about it, I think it's even worse when the singer or lead guitarist in a band dies and is then replaced by Joe Shmoe, and they don't change the name of the band!!!
