about me
For more than 20 years I supported my family as a professional entertainer. I made appearances on TV and wrote, performed and produced shows for the amusement park Great America in Santa Clara.

I am currently NOT a sr. animator at Secret Level...anymore, a game company in S.F. and have credits on 6 or 7 different games. Ranging from lead 3D Artist to modeling, animating and voice talent. I have worked for the grandaddy of all game companies...Atari, and the biggest of them all...EA. I have also worked for a small production company producing, editing, animating and art directing everything from commercials to logo treatments. It's all been fun.... however, as I was recently laid off yet again...

I have decided to NOT go back to a life in a box...in front of a monitor.

I am NOW CURRENTLY AND FOREVER MORE a professional pirate.
I do a spoof of a famous movie pirate as Captian Jack Spareribs.
I perform where ever they will let me. Mostly magic, juggling, ventriloquism and acting. I was crew on the tall ship Royaliste for a couple of years, firing cannons and terrorizing the Bay. I have started playing the part of Fagin at the Dickens' Fair which is much like playing Riff Raff really... and have for the last 3 years. I love the people and the world of the Dickens' Fair.

I make my living now performing and passing the hat on Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco and performing at private parties and corporate events.

I did spend my youth dressing as Riff Raff at the RHPS. It taught me about costuming and make up and was a great outlet since we had no drama dept. at the crappy High School I dropped out of.

And now I am back to wearing make up and a wig and playing dress up yet again... I am so grateful for my whacky life.

Used to be a freak. Fire-eating, sword swallowing, bed of nails and other assorted oddities.

Now I'm just a freak without all the extras.

Oh jeeze...I have a blog now

Friday March 7th at 1:45 ...yep THIS Friday, I have my audition on Pier 39!!

This is HUGE. If I can get into the rotation there...well, that is the good end of town. I am currently in a parking lot at the OTHER end of Jefferson at the very end.

This is an actual stage with sound and lights and bottled water for performers (it IS the Crystal Geyser stage)...not to mention 11 million tourists a year passing through.

So if ANYONE has time in the middle of the day or knows someone that ... read more

I am now...as of last Friday...

I full-time PIRATE...again...finally.

Yes made to walk the plank at work yet again. And after turning 46 and realizing that if I didn't make a break for it I never would... I said no thanks to the job placement offer and the headhunters emails and the former lead's recommendation possible contract work in the UK for a couple of months.

And I decided to do it.

I am going back to performing for my living. Somehow with 4 weeks severance and that's ab... read more

This was at the Ojai pirate fest and what happens when they let interns leave the studio with a camera and a mic.

But...like they say...any exposure, is good exposureOf course that's if it's not breezy out.

Well it has happend. The Tallship Roylaiste (a pirate ship) on which I crewed on the foredeck and as gunner for over 2 years, has run aground and is lying on her side in a river near S. Carolina. She is swamped with water and is in need of being salvaged and restored.
The sad part is that the Captain and his wife lived on her and have now lost everything on top of trying to save thier ship/home.

This is a message that is making it's rounds with info on how folks can send $$$ to help in th... read more

The first place I looked.

I thought I would be searching for a job for a long time. I figured I would interview at a ton of places as I wanted to make sure it was a good fit this time.

But after meeting the crew and hours of interviews with them...

I ended up fitting perfectly at Secret Level in S.F.

I'm once again a Sr. animator and happy to be working with a small team on what looks to be an amazing game (can't say more right now).

Thanks to all those that were helping in my ... read more

Blah,Blah,Blah

Ace you are one of the most talented people I have ever met.....
Your ability to create,
is a desire that burns inside of you.
a passion.
You should have been kin to Walt,
man what a grand time you both could have had!
I am proud to say I know you,
I am very proud that I have had the chance to perform along side..

My wish is for you to kick ass one day,
just one foot in the door is ALL you NEED.....
I hope you find that door,
because you would be a fabulous actor,
move over chameleon Depp, Brando and Lemon....

I am forever your friend,
you are my brother of another.

Although we fight as such,
I am there for you,
just call on me,
anytime,
anyplace,
anywhere,

You have my prayers and blessings.

Be at peace with yourself,
and the gifts shall flow like a river.

Fagin - Magician - Pirate

I got to know Ace in that order. When he first joined our "Oliver" crew as Fagin, something about him looked right...then when he actually shaved a big hole in the middle of his hair...I knew he was DEFINITELY demented enough to be one of us! During that first year,Ace proceeded to delight us all with his prestidigital manifestations...one card trick in particular still leaves me jawdropped and absolutely terrified of his magicinal skills! ( Dang You! ). Later still,he made an appearance at a theater where my girlfriend ran the lighting crew...as Jack Spareribs,I was as impressed by his performance,as he was shocked that I lived in the small town he was appearing in!

So suffice to say,Ace possess all those things you should feel toward a good friend: Comradery, Respect & Fear! ( Ha Ha! ). I enjoy Ace's company emensely, and look forward to many years of being among his cohorts on Land,on Sea,and Dockside! Here's to Ye,Matey!

What to say about Ace? ... Hmmm ...

... Now he's fine & dandy the nice bloke that he is ... But that scoundrel Jack Sparrow be what he may. Over the years I've seen many a kind. For sure he'll entertain The kids at his best ... Just make sure there's rum in the chest! It is well worth having him around when he puts smiles on childrens faces. It is something nice to bring kids to life to charm them with fun & lots of delight ... It takes such a talent that comes from the heart. He does a great job that helps them Remember ... "The day that they met ... Captain Jack Sparrow! "
