BIG AUDITION!!!

Friday March 7th at 1:45 ...yep THIS Friday, I have my audition on Pier 39!! This is HUGE. If I can get into the rotation there...well, that is the good end of town. I am currently in a parking lot at the OTHER end of Jefferson at the very end. This is an actual stage with sound and lights and bottled water for performers (it IS the Crystal Geyser stage)...not to mention 11 million tourists a year passing through. So if ANYONE has time in the middle of the day or knows someone that does ...OR knows someone with a CHILD... for God..Goddess..Buddy Jesus' sake!! Let them know!!! It is the SLOW time of year down there and on a Friday mid-day it will be tough to get a crowd at all let alone ANY children. Not that my show depends on kids...BUT the show is MUCH funnier WITH them there! :) Ok...break my leg... err... peg leg... uh come down and give me a hook...uh ..hand...umm ARRRR! What ARRRRE you lookin' at?

I am now...as of last Friday... I full-time PIRATE...again...finally. Yes made to walk the plank at work yet again. And after turning 46 and realizing that if I didn't make a break for it I never would... I said no thanks to the job placement offer and the headhunters emails and the former lead's recommendation possible contract work in the UK for a couple of months. And I decided to do it. I am going back to performing for my living. Somehow with 4 weeks severance and that's about it, I'm heading to Fisherman's Wharf this weekend and many more to follow and then weekdays too. I will also be booking as many shows...(read- parties and anything) as well of course. This is just the beginning of my evil plan to rule the world! San Francisco will never be the same once Maynard the Monkey is turned loose!! But...like they say...any exposure, is good exposureOf course that's if it's not breezy out.

Well it has happend. The Tallship Roylaiste (a pirate ship) on which I crewed on the foredeck and as gunner for over 2 years, has run aground and is lying on her side in a river near S. Carolina. She is swamped with water and is in need of being salvaged and restored. The sad part is that the Captain and his wife lived on her and have now lost everything on top of trying to save thier ship/home. This is a message that is making it's rounds with info on how folks can send $$$ to help in the effort: At the time of this writing, Royaliste is still aground and the captain and crew are still working to free her. Gary and Kathy Bergman, the owners/captains lived aboard full-time and have lost nearly everything that was aboard. Insurance coverage on a vessel of this type only covers liability, so as I understand it, absolutely none of this is to be covered by the ship's insurance. Gary and Kathy are faced with the tremendous financial burden. In addition to the initial recovery of the ship, they will be faced with haul-out costs, repair and replacement costs not to mention the costs of hotel rooms, clothing and personal care items. The Royaliste operates as a non-profit and she desperately needs the assistance of everyone who can make a donation to help with her recovery. No donation would be too small or too large and every donation is greatly appreciated. Please spread the word of her difficulties to anyone who can help. The first place I looked. I thought I would be searching for a job for a long time. I figured I would interview at a ton of places as I wanted to make sure it was a good fit this time. But after meeting the crew and hours of interviews with them... I ended up fitting perfectly at Secret Level in S.F. I'm once again a Sr. animator and happy to be working with a small team on what looks to be an amazing game (can't say more right now). Thanks to all those that were helping in my search!

Electronic Arts just had a HUGE layoff today and I was one of the 170 folks they let go. If anyone knows ANYPLACE that is looking for a 3D artist/animator, please give me a shout. I have a VERY limited amount of time to land something before I become literally homeless with a daughter in college and a wife in a wheelchair and in need of medications. I can do so many different things it makes no sense to try to list them all but I will send info to anyone that wants to see it. Wish me luck, here I go!
