An excerpt from The Garden Gnome Book: An Illustrated History
"As a practice, its placement in the garden began in the late 18th century in a limited geographical area in the forests of Thuringia and northern Bavaria in Germany. One of the first and most famous accounts of garden gnomes dates to 1847, when Sir Charles Isham had twenty-one stauettes imported from Germany for his garden in Northhamptonshire, England. His neighbors deemed Isham an eccentric, and rumors circulated of midnight communions with his gnomes."

Eating regular meals containing foods high in calcium, magnesium, zinc, B-vitamins, and vitamin C also helps in this. Getting enough sleep, allowing time for creative expression and spending time outdoors assists in removing internal clutter.
ENERGY NEEDS. A living body is rather like an internal combustion engine, burning fuel and oxygen to release energy, and giving off carbon dioxide and other waste products. This energy is used to maintain healthy functioning of the body and support activity. :) I hope I get a gnome from gnome camp this year! I'll be residing somewhere near 4:30 & habitat-lemme know if we're in for an adventure! :) Guess what soundtrack/dvd I've been priming my newbie friends with? YAH! :)xo RamonaMayhem |
