about me
I'm in many ways, an eternal child. My mind is bright, alert, curious, flexible, playful, and always eager for new experiences - and my attention span is often quite brief. I grasp ideas quickly and once my initial curiosity has been satisfied, I want to go on to something else. I crave frequent change, variety, meeting new situations and people. My destiny is to be a Protector.I'm looking for you now, something in you catches my mind and I really wish to know what may happens.
Whether you know it or not, this is the role that is most in tune with who I am at my core. As a Protector, I have an exceptional gift for guiding and comforting others when no one else is willing or able because I actually feel their pain as if it were my own. If I could insulate those I love from all hardship, I would consider that my greatest accomplishment. I offer caring and thoughtful advice that helps others heal and move in a positive direction, but I don't call attention to myself, choosing rather to selflessly give to others in order to make the world a better place. This sense of duty and exceptional work ethic will get me far in life. Self Confident, Responsible, Friendly, Unconventional, Free-Spirited, Quiet, Spontaneous, Practical, Spiritual, Playful, Easygoing, Open-Minded, Earthy, Simple, Loving, Shy, Intellectual, Artistic, Serious, Humorous.

The Thirty Articles of the United Nations
Universal Declaration of Human Rights
Purpose: To make them aware of their thirty basic rights from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights so they know them, grant them to others, and defend them for themselves. This area will focus on fourteen of the articles. The students should know there are more rights then the ones gone over and they should read the rest of the booklet. Words from these articles are also included in the glossary, in case ... read more

Every person is entitled to certain rights – simply by the fact that they are a human being. They are "rights" because they are things you are allowed to be, to do or to have. These rights are there for your protection against people who might want to harm or hurt you. They are also there to help us get along with each other and live in peace.

Many people know something about their rights. They know they have a right to be paid for the work they do and they have a right to vote. But there... read more

[NB The following transcript of the talk contains additional passages that Lakatos subsequently included in the text version of his talk published in Philosophy in the Open and in The Methodology of Scientific Research Programmes: Philosophical Papers Volume 1. They are highlighted in italics within square brackets. Other passages he omitted from the published text are emboldened.]

Recently I went on a business trip to Beijing (formerly known as Peking but still called Peking in Japanese because Cantonese refers to the city as Peking while Mandarin calls it Beijing - go figure) with a co-worker from Hong Kong. She is Hong Kong Chinese and speaks Cantonese, Mandarin, Japanese, English all fluently and now is studying Italian. She moves fluidly from one culture to the next, assimilating quite easily into the language and the lifestyle. I envy her.

While I was in Beiji... read more
