My Blog

Wow... It's hard to believe that the last time I took to really write was almost 6 months ago! A lot has happened since then, and I'm not sure where to begin. Best bet is to basically explain where I am now & perhaps try to work backwards...

Regarding my injury, I'm fairly healed up & functioning back to normal... It's a bit strange at times, looking in the mirror, seeing the right side of my collarbone as a bump on my shoulder, and realizing that it's permanently disconnected (I can move... read more

I just got back from my visit with the Orthopedic specialist & after an enlightening assessment of my injury it turns out that I DON'T NEED SURGERY!!! Since Thursday I've been dealing not only with physical pain, but the mental anguish of potentially having to recover from reconstructive surgery for up to 6 months!

The doctor said that based upon my x-ray & the fact that my shoulder bone can actually be pushed back down into place, he'd rate my damage as more of a level 2-3 tear as oppose... read more

I'm doing my best to try to accept what's happened but am still in a bit of shock from it all... I spent the entire sleepless night (Thursday eve) in the Emergency room & then had a doctor's appt. at 9am this morning. I've been sleeping on & off but have been in a lot of pain & my head is still spinning about what this all means for me.

My injury happened very quickly. I was crossing railroad tracks at the end of the bike path (on my ride home from work) and my scooter slipped to the left.... read more

Sick with the FLU!!!
I can't remember the last time I was physically ill so many times in the course of a year... Perhaps it's because I'm now constantly sharing spaces with so many people... It's funny to me that if anyone (from work) asks me how I'm doing, and I respond, "I'm sick with some sort of cold or flu", their response is, "oh that's a drag... I had that last week..." At least it's a way I can get the low-down on what to expect of the disease & how long it should last... Apparently... read more

This past Monday/Tuesday's "workday weekend" was nice & semi relaxing. Monday I spent mostly online, paid a few bills, bought a Bamboo Floor for my attic space at home, and a new electric standing scooter to have in Toronto. The online company I ordered the scooter from doesn't ship to Canada, so I'm having it shipped to our band leader's place near Buffalo, NY (2 hours away). Seth may be able to drive the scooter up to Toronto after our break next week, and/or it's close enough that I can ge... read more
