about me
I'm a yoga teacher/practitioner, Holistic Health Practitioner and movement artist. I graduated from a certification program for Holistic Health Practitioner at the World School of Massage & Holistic Healing Arts. I'm currently enrolled in the Professional Massage Program at the school and super very excited. I inspire all to embody their whole being. All these tools of practice have helped me follow my path without fear. My self-confidence has improved and I'm still peeling away at the layers. Fear is what stops all of us in our tracks. It can be frightening but once you face it, absorb it and acknowledge it the healing goes on from there. I'm one to wear myself thin with too many projects but I feel I have more awareness of that now and back off from things without any judgement. I'm all about taking care of myself, my mind, my body and my partner. See how I put myself first? I never used to do that and it feels great! I try not to over-analyze, just be in the moment, be present. To live in every possible way and have a good time. Oh and I LOVE CHOCOLATE and always will....

My Blogs and Happenings

As I'm able to find more opps to practice, I've realized how much my practice has changed since I've gotten older. I started practicing yoga almost 10 years ago and my body has definitely changed! Of course I've been aware of this new neck "project" going on, just when I feel it's going away, I turn around and do something to aggravate it. Now I just don't do those things, even though I enjoy them. For instance, I can't keep my neck in full flexion for too long these days. So shoulderstand is... read more

As I continue to work on my feet, I have to ask myself if I'm willing to allow change. For now, it's looking at the shoes I wear. are they serving me? are they impeding on my healing? Change is something I've either consciously and unconsciously embraced throughout my life. It's more conscious as I want to experience these shifts more and be present. It can be such a whirlwind of emotions and thoughts, both fun and not fun. So here I go into the unknown!

Feet are my new passion in life. Well, at the moment, my own feet. I had my first weekend of Structural Foot Balancing class and I have to say it open my eyes! I knew that when we have foot problems it can affect the rest of the body, but not the other way around. With the help of my fellow students, I found so much more space, circulation and relief in my feet. Tingling, pulsing, breathing!

On my right foot, I broke part of my big toe when I was about 10 years old at a slumber party. The... read more

I find this so true with my life and what I see in others. For instance, my money projects have definitely gotten me down and I'm in the middle of one again. But I'm so aware now of how I get around money, it's really no big deal anymore, because I know now that it's going to be okay. I direct my attention to what brings me joy in my life--my husband, family, my cats, massage school. Yes! I would rather go with joy. It feels better and is more in alignment with who I truly am.

This also refers to Yin and Yang which is about balance. I love how it's all connected!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~(From yogajournal.com daily insight)
When we think of yoga in the West, we are generally referring to hatha yoga, which is only one branch in the larger system of yoga. Hatha yoga is the branch of yoga that focuses primarily on work in the physical body through postures and breathing exercises.
The word hatha is comprised of two parts: Ha, which means s... read more
This article is so true. Embracing change can be a scary thing for some. Attachment to detachment is a huge step for human beings. I find myself resisting change with certain things such as accepting my body now than it was when I was 21. But also taking my time and being compassionate to myself.
I have to say being in massage school has been a blessing. Not only do I get to see the coolest people ever every week, but I get the opportunity to give and receive massage. I have been receiving massage for about 8 years now so I definitely know what I like and don't like. But to be able to give someone a swedish massage is really an awesome experience. You're totally connecting with this person on a different level. They totally vulnerable, yet you hold the space with safety, kindness and ... read more
Not that I'm ready to do this, but it's something that I've toyed with and pondered for many years. I'm definitely off the coffee, but still drink green and black teas. I love the herbal ones, but only drink those in the afternoon and evening. I know it's gonna be tough to get off caffeine. I can already feel the headaches and moodiness. However, this article from yoga journal emphasizes that one should gradually decrease their caffeine intake instead of cold turkey which is where all those n... read more
I loved this article because it hits home for me in so many ways. I have been going through my own healing process and I know yoga has helped me breakthrough a lot of barriers of resistance. Yes, it's scary when you face your inner demons, but the relief and space you feel afterward is so beautiful and profound.
I want to share this article because just in this first paragraph below, this has happened to me and I've seen it happen to others. It's amazing what our bodies do. We can get to kn... read more
I absolutely love these emails I get from yoga journal everyday. There's always something to ponder, wonder, or reflect about myself. Why do I practice yoga? is a question to reflect on. I not only love the poses but my overall state of being is enhanced and intensified. Something to investigate for myself.
This article was really touching to me. It explains how powerful friends can be in your life during illness and stress. There were several studies done on the subject as well and most of them resulted in that the more friends people have (excluding family) in their lives, distant or close, the less stressed and healthy they are.
