I’m a 50-year-old queer male whose pursuit of happiness has always been enabled by honest interaction with those who savor life to its fullest and live by ‘the golden rule’.

Respect is after all, a 2-way street.

“To each their own” they say, but in all honesty this cantankerous geezer to some, playful neophyte to others, still can’t and never has been able to abide by those indoctrinated to become vague to existence, paralyzed by ‘fear & loathing’ for anything considered different, imprisoned by self-hatred, consumed by socio-economic prejudice, sold on the hype of body type, confined by age discrimination, can’t hold their liquor while in a party-hardy state or won’t “let Rudolph play in any reindeer games.”

Furthermore as a citizen of the planet Earth it is my duty to question sanctimonious hypocrisy, the ‘special interest’ politics of deception, coercion, fear, hatred and the acceptance of ‘rip off’ consumerism.

I’ll go toe-to-toe with any manipulative form of abusive/circumstantial/‘tu quoque’ (you also) ‘argumentum ad hominem’ (attacking the person) media bombardment of spin that makes irrationality persuasive.

Martin Luther King, Jr. said it best, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” I have zero-tolerance for ‘head-in-the-sand’ policies or the systematic dismantling of liberty in the name of ‘greed & corruption’ politics*. Benjamin Franklin astutely observed “They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

For those who choose to validate non-rational appeals in their thought process all I’ll say is this, “I’d rather be hated for who I am, than loved for whom I’m not; ah-MEN!”

“Time waits for no one” so what is really more important, extinction or evolution?

I’d much rather laugh then yell, so where’s the party for the celebration of life going on?

It’s always been the diversity of others in our community that makes life interesting. Once one accepts diversity you also come to realize that we are all basically the same.

I’m both fun-loving yet serious in what I seek, but not desperate in my search. I nurture others as others have nurtured me but I stand my ground in the face of adversity.
