about me
I've been belly dancing for some time now, and still get excited bout it.. Triberet, Fusion, and Tribal are the styles I have been studying, but recently became certified in Ansuya's Cabaret Comprehensive.

The past several months have been spent getting the studio space we leased ready to open. And we finally did it - just opened our doors the first of March. The space was really raw and needed sooo much done to it - but we negotiated a great deal, and did ALL the remodeling work ourselves. Kimara (my very first instructor) is my partner in this venture. And she has an absolutely fab Fusion class on Tuesdays (I teach one of our "foundations" classes on Mondays). Johanna of Hip-Expressions of St. Pete (my other instructor) has been a help and inspiration too. BTW, Johanna is also teaching a couple of classes at my studio. So come on by all you north Pinellas and south Pasco dancers looking for a really good Tribal. class.

Belly dance, aside from being of beneift to me physically, is just plain fun. I also view it as an extension of my spiritual growth. A lifelong Pagan and Witch (solitary - trad), my spiritual & magickal practice are very much a part of who I am. Open and honest about what I am and what I do - but definately not "in your face" about it.

I've lived as somewhat of a gypsy you could say. Spent much of my early adulthood living/traveling aboard boats. Mostly crewing/captaining them - but 12 years ago I bought my own and really took to the water exploring the world (at least a goodly portion thereof). Until VERY recently...
My sailboat (GYPSY) is now up in the boatyard getting some work done before listing for sale. Just getting too expensive to keep up with the rising costs of insurance and slip fees here in Florida (and now that have put down some roots - don't really want to leave).

Some words that describe me:
Aries: Firey, Independant, Creative,
Sensual, tribal, earthy, romantic, mystical, culture junkie,
Pagan, Witch, friend, sometimes teacher, wanna-be artist, and eternal optimist.
TruthSeeker, wanderer, traveler, adventurer, curious bookworm...

The fever...
for rhythm, the fever for dancing.
A fever for life!

This was a great weekend guys. Spent the day dancing in Lake Wales at an event put on by World Dance Bazaar. There were other dancers there as well (Black V and Blue Caravan danced together) and there were cloggers, a kids’ modern jazz, Tango dancers, ballroom and swing, and several other belly dancers and troupes.

Then top that off w/ the fab drum workshop held at the studio last night. Buddy helm was excellent. We... read more

Ok, so its been a while since I blogged (or much of anything recently).
Nov was a crazy month... Perfomances, classes, trying to get the studio open. One of my roomies (*K*) had to go to hospital, It was pretty serious - and he nearly died. And my other roomie (Mandy) was freaking out bout it (Mandy is *Ks* GF). Then I had my great aunt (whom I'd not seen since I was 16) come and stay the week w/ me. That was kewl.

Things are still moving forward w/ the studio - getting the space refu... read more
