Perhaps it's the pregnancy hormones running rampant in my system, perhaps it's the specter of impending parenthood looming over me, but this touched me. Ever since I found my husband, I've dealt with the fear of losing him. Not fear like it used to be in previous lesser relationships, where I worried that he'd cheat on me or dump me. No, this is the fear of losing his LIFE. When we got married that fear ratcheted up a little, now that I'm pregnant, it's ratcheted up even more. My poor husband must think I'm a little crazy when I tell him out of the blue, "Don't die, OK?" I try not to do that too often... I'm not scared of dying myself. But the thought of losing my most loved one terrifies me. So watching this video was a nice reminder about some simple truths we can embrace to make the days we do have really count. Love. Humility. It's off to Germany and Austria for me and my honey! I will drink copious amounts of beer. I will eat a wide variety of wursts. I will frolick in the Austrian hills like Maria. I will sing "Do-re-mi" in the Mirabell Gardens. It vill be vonderful.

Nomadia Dance Company is giving a First Friday performance at the Indigo on 5th Avenue this Friday, Jan. 5. Come enjoy new works by local artists (including a series of paintings featuring Nomadia) and check out improvisational group and solo performances by Nomadia. The gallery opening is scheduled from 6-8 p.m. and is free. More details to come!

This is my last day in front of a computer for a while! Tonight I'm off to Kauai to marry an incredible man, and will return with a new name, a few new freckles and a new life stretching out in front of me! I couldn't be more excited...I never thought I was the glowing type, but baby, I'm glowing! I've found this experience to be a wonderful testament to how I've choosen to live my life...I'm going to paradise to marry my love, and I still can't wait to get home and dance with all my beautiful muses up here in Alaska! Being content is an amazing thing. I'll be sending out warm thoughts to everyone while I'm away, and will know that ya'll are dancing with me on my wedding day!
