Happy Soulstice!

I'm giving so much thanks for this Life, and for YOU! For every breath I inhale and exhale! For family, Friends, and those who may not necessarily fit into these categories, but have touched my life.

Following an incredible tour of the 5 Points Gathering, and an epic 15 yr. FMG (wow! i really dig minimal!) we were on our way to Raindance, when ... a semi plowed into the back of my car igniting a renewed flaming fire of GRATITUDE for my life! Save for a bit of whiplash, I am fine... my passenger is too... the driver of the semi is also fine... my car, Lemuria, however, isn't so well. A bit crunched like a can... well, totaled the adjuster said. Hmph!

And now a dance of beauracracy... dealing w/ insurance companies and whatnot.

Simply wanted to put it out there, that I am incredibly THANKFUL for this LIFE... to have the opportunity to know YOU, and to share in this blessed experience together!

xoxoxoxo,

    </a>
										<div>
It doesn't interest me what you do for a living
I want to know what you ache for
and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing.

It doesn't interest me how old you are
I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool
for love
for your dreams
for the adventure of being alive.

It doesn't interest me what planets are squaring your moon...
I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow
if you have been opened by life's betrayals
or have become shrivelled and closed
from fear of further pain.

I want to know if you can sit with pain
mine or your own
without moving to hide it
or fade it
or fix it.

I want to know if you can be with joy
mine or your own
if you can dance with wildness
and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your
fingers and toes
without cautioning us to
be careful
be realistic
to remember the limitations of being human.

It doesn't interest me if the story you are telling me
is true.
I want to know if you can
disappoint another
to be true to yourself.

If you can bear the accusation of betrayal
and not betray your own soul.
If you can be faithless
and therefore trustworthy.

I want to know if you can see Beauty
even when it is not pretty
every day.
And if you can source your own life
from its presence.

I want to know if you can live with failure
yours and mine
and still stand on the edge of the lake
and shout to the silver of the full moon,
"Yes."

It doesn't interest me
to know where you live or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up
after a night of grief and despair
weary and bruised to the bone
and do what needs to be done
to feed the children.

It doesn't interest me who you know
or how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand
in the center of the fire
with me
and not shrink back.

It doesn't interest me where or what or with whom
you have studied.
I want to know what sustains you
from the inside
when all else falls away.

I want to know if you can be alone
with yourself
and if you truly like the company you keep
in the empty moments.</div>

The Violence in, "I'm Sorry."

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/alegria-sita/blog/f74c4bc9-81c6-4178-b73c-53917e25f2dd"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/855/62b/85562bd9-4bec-4a24-a5f4-f5c8a024302a.thumb" width="65" height="59" alt="" />
    </a>
<div>Today, on yahoo.com, I read an article titled, "The Art of the Apology" (http://www.portfolio.com/resources/insight-center/2007/09/11/The-Art-of-the-Apology) Essentially, it described the ingredients of an effective apology, which included: 1.) Acknowledgment of fault or an offense, 2.) regret for it, and 3.) responsibility for the offense. This is all good and great if we want to perpetuate a society based on right vs. wrong, punishment and reward, or looking to others for approval and self worth. I, however, am really interested in shifting this paradigm... and finding a new way...

Having been a recipient and giver of apologies, I am recognizing that an apology, no matter how well constructed, does not really improve the dynamics of a given situation... rather, it leaves me feeling incredibly unfulfilled. On some level, when I receive an apology it inflates my Ego into superficially believing that I am more "Right" than the apologizer... or that I am owed some kind of penance as a result of the "wrong" person's mistake. When I am the "giver" of an apology, I feel incredibly embarrassed, guilty, ashamed, etc. Nothing in an apology offers what it is I'm most yearning for, which is connection, empathy, understanding and ultimately to have the unmet need resulting from the "mistake" (for lack of a better word) to be met.

While I am really good at fulfilling the role of "right vs. wrong - guilt - shame - punishment" that I've been socialized to play out in both giving and receiving apologies, I would love to explore a new way. I would love to meet my friends and family in a new paradigm of genuinely transforming such injustice.

Nonviolent Communication offers us an alternative. Rather than apologize for "wrong-doing," how about offering sincere mourning in these moments... which can offer us an opportunity to learn from the situation without losing self-respect. When we "admit fault," we're setting ourselves up for self, and external judgment... seeking approval, or forgiveness, or a penance when really... whatever it was that we did that did not meet the need(s) of another, was only in a genuine effort to meet a need of our own.

Breathe into that one.

It's a pretty transformative concept... at least for me. To consider that the individual who was not meeting another's needs was not doing it out of malice, or thoughtlessness... but rather, out of merely trying to meet his/her own needs.... hmmmm.

So, how to shift the paradigm?

Well... rather than say a meaningless, "I'm sorry," how about the following steps:

1.) Empathize with the individual who is feeling "let down," by acknowledging their feelings and the needs that are unmet in the situation. Really consider, without giving or taking blame/judgments, what is alive in the individual. Connect with them... letting them know you understand where they're coming from, and why they feel the way they do.

2.) Mourn by expressing how you feel as a result of understanding their feelings and unmet needs. Have and/or express empathy for yourself by acknowledging the needs that you were trying to meet in making the choices that you did in the situation.

3.) Negotiate strategies and make agreements to get one another's needs met either now, or for the future.... and then follow through with these agreements. Be specific, pro-active, positive, and clear, making conscious choices (i.e. making commitments you can and want to keep). KEEP THESE AGREEMENTS. Sometimes things do come up making it impossible to keep agreements... in this case, be pro-active and RENEGOTIATE new strategies to meet the needs as far in advance as the situation allows.

    </a>
<div>Funny how we can find exactly what we need when we need it sometimes. I happened upon these beautiful words about letting go, and wanted to share it with you! Enjoy and Release!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Letting Go

To let go doesn't mean to stop caring; it means I can´t do it for someone else.

To let go is not to cut myself off; it's the realization that I can´t control another.

To let go is not to enable, but to allow learning from natural consequences.

To let go is to admit powerlessness, which means the outcome is not in my hands.

To let go is not to try to change or blame another; I can change only myself.

To let go is not to care for, but to care about.

To let go is not to fix, but to be supportive.

To let go is not to judge, but to allow another to be a human being.

To let go is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes, but to allow others to affect their own outcomes.

To let go is not to be protective; it is to permit another to face reality.

To let go is not to deny, but to accept.

To let go is not to adjust everything to my desires, but to take each day as it comes and to cherish the moment.

To let go is not to nag, scold, or argue, but to search out my own shortcomings and to correct them.

To let go is not to criticize and regulate anyone, but to try to become what I dream I can be.

To let go is not to regret the past, but to grow and live for the future.

To let go is to fear less and love more.

These are the instructions on how to let go... Perhaps it is letting go of a rebellious child, or a burden of sorrow; losing a loved one, or learning to live with a heartache which we just cannot let go of. Read this over... STUDY IT... PRAY OVER IT... and you will find that letting go of your load will release a peace within you which will allow your spirit to soar... to be free... to completely give it to God... and let a work be done within you where the need is anyway.

Treasure your failures, because they will lead you to success. Each negative result gets you closer and closer to the ultimate goal.

If you're not failing, you´re not getting anything done. Failure is nothing to be ashamed of, but rather something to learn from. Often you can learn more from undesired results, than you can from something which works the way you planned.

To be a winner, you´ve got to keep stepping up to bat. Even if you struck out the last time, and the time before that. To each new attempt you bring more experience, more knowledge, more determination.

With each failure you greatly increase your chances of winning. It would be a shame to stop just short of your goal. Every day you're getting better and better. With each attempt you learn, and become more effective. The prize is closer than you think. You're becoming a winner. Keep it up for as long as it takes.

Unconditional Love

    </a>
<div>A friend posted this earlier.... and I was thankful for the reminder! Passing it on, just in case... you... too... may need the reminder.

If you never had hurt feelings, you would love unconditionally. It is thoughts about yourself that prevent you from loving with your whole heart. You believe that someone loves you one minute and not the next, and so conditions are born, and you respond accordingly. You believe that love can be withdrawn, and so you withdraw. You believe that love does not really belong to you, neither as a receiver or giver.

Sometimes you measure out the love according to how much you feel you are given. You will go only so far in giving love, and no further. You think you have to follow the pace set for you.

Beloved, what if you are the one to set the pace? What if you are an all-giver, and you give all your love all the time? Where do hurt feelings enter in? What if you really have no thought of return?

I do not mean that you slobber love all over. I mean that you acknowledge the love you are, and so you give love, not based on ego, but based on Vastness. Not based on How much or How little. Not based on perceived merit, but based on love as the stream of life.

Why shouldn't you pour out your love wherever you are and under whatever circumstances? Why should anyone or anything displace your Divine-given love?

Come from the premise that there can be no lack of love. You cannot run out of love. Love is not apportioned piecemeal. It is not given out in percentages, or, the only percentage it is given is 100%. Since when are you supposed to give less than what is given to you? Even a little less is much too less.

You are not to hoard love. You are not to keep it in reserve. The measure of your love is not to be set by anything or anyone outside you. Love is not a commodity to be bargained with as at a street fair. Love is not a commodity. It is not on the stock market. Love must be given freely without obstruction. All the obstructions you see or fear are imaginary. Love, beloveds. Just love, and be done with it. Make the decision once and for all that nothing will block the free giving of your love.

You will no longer set aside some of your love. No longer will your love be apportioned here, and not there. No longer will you tease with your love, holding it up and taking it back. You will be consistent with love. There will simply be no holds barred to your giving of love. Love does not have to be earned. It is not a salary to be paid. Love is love and nothing else but love.

Constricted love is love constricted. If you restrict the love you give, you are not giving your full share. Love is not to be given minimally. It is to be given abundantly.

Remove your ego from love, and you will love the way you are meant to love. You will never withdraw love. Your love will never be dependent upon anything but itself. You will love fully and always. Make the decision now, and then forget about it. When the dams of love are opened, they are opened. You will simply love without thought of it.

You will find yourself enjoying even those you did not enjoy before. With love, all things are possible. You are a harbinger of love, and now is the time to strike with love. The real thing. Today you love. Tomorrow you love. You love regardless. You are meant to love with all your heart. Start now.</div>

*******************
Public Statement by Corbin's Immediate Family

July 10, 2007 (TurtleIsland). Corbin Harney Spiritual Leader of the Western Shoshone Nation crossed over at 11:00 a.m. this morning in a house on a sacred mountain near Santa Rosa, CA (Turtle Island). He had dedicated his life to fighting the nuclear testing and dumping.

That battle claimed his life through cancer.

Before he passed, he said to remember:

"We are one people. We cannot separate ourselves now. There are many good things to be done for our people and for the world. It is important to let things be good. And it is important to teach the younger generation so that things are not lost."

According to witnesses present, in the morning fog, the spirits of four Shoshoni dog soldiers were outside on horseback before Corbin's passing. But then one of the Shoshone present, Santiago Lozada, yelled "Tosawi Tosawi!" (White Knife). And then the fog shifted and there were thousands of spirits waiting.

Corbin passed peacefully at the end. He was only worried that he still had more to do. When he finally let go and went with the dog soldiers, Red Wolf Pope, grandson of Rolling Thunder, was present and sang him the Tosawi death song to call the dog soldiers to come take him home. Golden eagles continue to circle the house hours after his crossing."

True to form Corbin joked around several days ago that he was going to go at 11:00, and kept his promise.

Over his lifetime, Corbin traveled around the world as a speaker, healer and spiritual leader with a profound spiritual and environmental message for all. He received numerous national and international awards and spoke before the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. Corbin also authored two books: "The Way It Is: One Water, One Air, One Earth" (Blue Dolphin Publishing, 1995) and a forthcoming book, "The Nature Way". Numerous documentaries have been made about his work and message. In 1994, Corbin established the Shundahai Network to work with people and organizations to respond to spiritual and environmental concerns on nuclear issues. He also established Poo Ha Bah, a native healing center located in Tecopa Springs, California. He will be missed but always honored for his work and dedication to traditional ways.

Corbin Harney is descended from generations of Newe (Shoshone) traditional healers and was always grateful for the many extraordinary teachers who shared their knowledge in his lifetime. Corbin is survived by his daughter Reynaulda Taylor; granddaughters Ann Taylor and Nada Leno; grandsons Keith, Jon and Joel Leno and William Henry Taylor; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and his sister Rosie Blossom's family and many cousins and other family members as well as many, many friends around the world. Corbin was preceded in death by his mother, father, sister, grandparents, uncle, great granddaughter, cousins, and friends. A very special thanks to Patricia Davidson, Corbin's caregiver in his final months; Dominic Daileda, Corbin's friend and companion for his support and compassion in hard times, and the family of Dixie and Martin van der Kamp for opening up their home and their hearts to Corbin and his family and friends during his time of need.

Dates and times for services are being made with official announcement to follow. Three day services are planned at the home of Larson R. Bill, So Ho Bee - Newe Sogobe (Lee, Nevada -Western Shoshone Territory) with burial services at Battle Mountain Indian Community, Battle Mountain Nevada.

    </a>
										<div>Greetings!

Let's share our Intentions for 2007, so that we can dream &amp; achieve together! I'll go first...

**************************************
Last year, I attended the Intention gathering in BC for New Year’s (check out this year’s at: http://intentiongathering.org) It was a phenomenal gathering of amazing people, all coming together to focus on and craft their intentions for the New Year. Held at the darkest time of the year when storms prevail, and many are turning inward, there was an authentic sense of deep support and connection throughout the 3-day retreat. While most people are planning for an epic party and the stroke of midnight, the Elfkin on the Sunshine Coast are gathering for 3 magical days of consciousness-inspiring workshops, intention setting, tribal market, and yes… an epic New Year’s Eve party… with a focused atmosphere… and an even more epic New Year’s temple night. It truly set the tone for an incredibly transformative year in 2006.

At Intention 7, I was newly single following 4 years of an intense Love and tumultuous relationship. I was undergoing an intense process of letting go, and turning to face the core roots of my unhealthy experience within that relationship… a deep lack in self love. It seemed as though the moment I took/take responsibility for my experience, refusing to look outside of myself, the tools necessary to change unconscious habits magically appear(ed). Over the course of the year, Nonviolent Communication (www.ncv.org) became a path for me in learning, understanding, and practicing self love. Through this model, I have developed more compassion for the shadow parts of myself than I could have imagined last year. I have more confidence in who I am and what I offer to the community. Overall… I have a deep love for me… and more patience with my process as it unfolds. I have begun to stop looking outside of myself for approval, love, and self worth… learning, instead, to source these things from within. For all of these lessons, I am thankful to Intention 7 for allowing me the space and time last winter to deliberately turn my attention towards them… so that I could manifest a year of abundant, productive learning and growing, propelling me forward in my evolution on this planet.

Well… unfortunately, I will not be making it to Intention 8 this year… but, based on what I learned from last year, and the power of focusing my attention onto what I hope to create and manifest in the New Year, I am definitely taking some time to work with my Intentions for 2007.

As I reflect on where I was last year at this time… and mark the growth and progress I’ve experienced over the course of the year, I would like to continue the forward momentum in my journey of Unconditional Love. While I hope to continue learning new ways to love myself in 2007 and beyond, I would like to shift my focus in this New Year to some of the areas I face pervasive challenges in the wisdom of Unconditional Love…. turning to face, and shed Light on the shadows of energy-consuming resentments, grudges, and right/wrong victim mentality – freeing this energy up, so that I can live more abundantly in Love Consciousness. And, while this is no small quest… I would like to add the desire to face these shadow-challenges lovingly, in a FUN, playful manner, that allows me to grow with ease, joy, and compassion for myself and others so that I might better receive the ever-present embrace of Life’s sweet nectar always kissing my lips. Mmmmmm. Yummy!

Time to dismantle these dramas that I create and play out for myself… zero in on the patterns, and measure them against Life-serving strategies, so that I may re-direct the locked up energies draining some aspects of my Spirit, and channel them into more creative outlets, that are more fulfilling, Fun!, and Loving!!! And, as I write this, I immediately recoil in fear, afraid of the criticism I may receive from Loved Ones who may actually hold me accountable to these Intentions whenever I slip up and misdirect freed up energy into new and/or old grudges/dramas. But steadfast and ready for a Loving challenge, I’m committed to these intentions… and request the support of those I love and trust to offer gentle, loving nudges as I move through these old, unserving patterns. Here I go…. Weeeeeeeeee!
****************************************************************************
Would love to hear of your intentions for 2007. Please share!

Infinite Love n’ Light in the New Year!
	Alegria~Sita

										<div>Envision Gratitude!

A friend recently posted, “It does not take Sight to See, it takes Vision.”

Envision was a huge success! A vision of community coming together to celebrate radical self-expression, supporting one another, basking in the highest of vibrations, and moving beyond the event with a greater sense of inspiration… manifested!

I’m sending mad props to EVERYONE who made Saturday night what it was… from those who planted seeds of inspiration for this gathering, to those who dedicated hours of blood, sweat, and tears in the process of creation, to those who showed up in celebration, to those who could not make it, but offered their best regards. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

										<div>...the more you become a
connoisseur of gratitude, the less

your need to possess and control--
and transform you into a generous being.

										<div>Querida familia:

Abundance manifested! It's been one long year and millions of prayers.... alas, persisitence has paid off!

Many of you are aware that I struggled this year in numerous ways. Frustration, lack of inspiration, debt, loss, etc. Overall Lack Consciousness. I am happy to report that the pendulum has begun to swing in the opposite direction!

The discovery of self-empowered manifestation has transformed all in my life. I am currently working in 2 amazing jobs that offer me lots of opportunity to grow and develop professionally. My Saturn Return has brought incredible self-reflection/discovery, and lots of challenging but rewarding lessons. Healing processes abound!

Overall, I am very much looking forward to this New Year. I believe that it marks a very pivotal moment in my life! I am having to let go of many treasures, attachments, shed old skin, and explore the darkest of my very own shadows. While these processes are scary and often painful, I am finding that beyond those things familiar, there lie wonders beyond my wildest dreams. I feel awakened in this process of letting go of that which no longer serves me.

My deepest gratitude goes out to all of you who have supported me throughout my process. Blessings to you as we embark on a New Year together!

Love and Light,
