I think Aleph could boil water just by touching it. He's the ultimate in gorgeous genius-ness. I miss him walking around the house half-naked in MontC. I've known him for a long time, but much of it I was living in NYC - hopefully we'll get to hang out more now that i'm back on the left side!

I swear, he couldn't even boil water just couple of years ago and now made himself into an amazing chef. I thought cooking ability=brain power and this man proved it with his unbelievable lobster bisque. Yumm..... it was astonishingly good! Could I have another please?

Its been a while since I've done much cooking, but the bug bit me again this weekend and the result if a kiwi-white guava-szechuan peppercorn sorbet. It came out rather nicely. The kiwi adds some nice acidity and color, the guava adds some nice fruitiness, while the szechuan peppercorns add an understated floral note, although their slight red coloration brings down the bright green of the kiwi. In addition, after you've eaten the sorbet, the szechuan peppercorns leave your mouth feeling slig...

On Nov 14 a few friends and myself are going out to the Farallons to do some Great White shark cage-diving. At the moment we have four people. The trip costs $775. We are looking for a few more divers to join us. If you want to come along, drop me a line.

Thats how I feel after a little over a week in Sabang, Mindoro, the Philippines, even after 16 hour plane rides, 3 hour bus rides and 1 hour boat rides. The diving was incredible. Three or four dives a day, including a night dive and wreck dives. The marine life is impressive and extensive. Lots of soft and hard coral. Saw many eels, lion fish, scorpion fish, frog fish, puffer fish, sole, cuttle fish, an octopus, sea snakes, a turtle, white tip sharks, lots of nudibranchs, sea horses, crabs, ...
