<div>Greetings, friends.
ali cat and 4 other lovely ladies in the Kaivalya Hoop Dancers (Stephiniti, Breeze, Lady Hoop, and Shana) will be hoopin' it up in India for the next two weeks!
Samsung wants us to perform for their Mobile Asia Conference, but then, they are also sponsoring us to take hoops to kids in the local schools in Delhi! I'm so excited to get to spread hoops, health, and happiness to kids on the other side of the globe! Our contact in India says that this trip is only the first of many for us to bring hoops to kids in India!
And of course, we're going to hoop it up at the Taj Mahal!
Please send love and light to us during our journey. May we have a safe and inspirational adventure.
I am so honored to be able to a part of this project.
Namaste, ali cat</div>

<div>Greetings, friends. An amazing event happens twice a year on some beautiful land in North west Georgia...The Rivercane Rendezvous, or the Primitive Skills Gathering. 300 people coming together to learn ancient techniques for thrival skills (not just survival). Amazing live music, storytelling, great food, bonfires, fire dancing, and so much more...
I've been going to this gathering for 7 years now, and I hardly ever miss one. Check out the website at www.primitiveskills.org
Rivercane Rendezvous is April 15-22, 2007
Falling Leaves Rendezvous Sept 30-Oct 7, 2007

Here are some of the classes you could take at Rendezvous...you can even learn to make a rivercane basket with a Cherokee elder, Emma Garrett. Many of these skills are being forgotten are only on displays in museums. This gathering helps to rekindle the ancient flame of valuable earthskills!

<div>We got teased with a 1/2" of fleeting powder last week...
I must say, I miss snow in the wintertime.
It's finally cold, and I love it...I love the heat too, but there's something grounding about really experiencing each season.
It seems the piedmont of NC hasn't had a good snow in way too long..
This was shot in Boone, NC. </div>

8 fun fact/tidbits/habits about me

<div>Okay, my friend Pam (FirePixie) tagged me, and requested I enter 8 facts/habits/tidbits about myself and then to tag 6 other people...no tag backs
I truly hate doing these things, although I must admit, I laughed hysterically when I read my friends' entries...so, okay, I'll do it for you...cause I love you, and I love to laugh.

1. I absolutely love wearing bright, beautiful costumes, lingerie, and dresses while playing in the woods (luckily, my fellow ball gown-wearing-camping goddesses wholeheartedly support, encourage, and share this fabulous fetish)

2. 1. I love having my toes sucked, and strangely enough, a Costa Rican iguana was the first non-human to tickle my fetish while I was watching the tide come in on the Nicoya Peninsula...it walked all the way across the beach in a straight line to my feet...I thought it might bite my toes, but since it had come so far, I figured I would see what would happen...it then licked my toes for about 5 minutes....I think it liked the salt....(my black cat also likes to lick my toes while I'm sleeping, but that's a little annoying)

3. I have a strange habit of spelling out in cursive with my forefinger particular words and people's names into the air...it appears like I'm just wiggling my forefinger...I know it seems strange, but I also have an uncanny nack for correctly remmebering names and strange spellings of words...maybe I'm scribing them into my memory journal...

4. When I was about 4 years old, a large black squirrel I named "Blacky" (very original, right?) moved into my treehouse. He would tap on our kitchen window and beg for pecans and nuts...my mother told me not to let Blacky eat out of the palm of my hand, because he might bite me...later, my mother heard me telling Blacky that he could eat out of my hand if he promised not to do it in front of Mom, so she wouldn't worry...but God told me it was okay for us to be friends and for him to eat from my hand...My mom thought it was so cute, she couldn't bring herself to scold me. Blacky would perch on my fingertips and eat the nuts from my hand and then drop the shells into my palm. He never bit me.

5. One of my favorite foods is dark chocolate with high concentrations of cacao...however, I usually only eat one square at a time, and slowly nibble on the one square, letting each tiny dose of chocolate melt across my tongue and fill my tastebuds with that bitter richness...It could easily take me 2 weeks or more to finish one bar. And I savour every delicious moment of it.

6. I haven't shaved my legs or armpits for more than 10 years, and I think it's beautiful! I believe that the cultural construct of shaved legs and armpits being more beautiful really attempts to keep women in an submissive, perpetual child-like, pre-pubescent state...I am a woman, and I have hairy pits!! I truly believe that hair has a purpose and removing it keeps our body from completing its natural functions. More power to the ladies who prefer shaved legs/armpits for comfort and smoothness...but I wonder, have you given that bristly 2-week stubble enough time to really smooth out? And how much does your definition of beauty depend on what you've been taught?

7. When I was 13, I dropped out of chorus because I was too insecure to audition in front of the group. Today, I love to sing, and I even receive an amazing high from singing in front of groups...Thank goodness for the altered states that melted and reformed my ego way back when....

8. I quit smoking cigarettes cold turkey in July of 1996! It's my 10 year anniversary, and I can hardly be in a room with cigarette smoke...Yeah!

okay, so now I have to tag 6 people...that's the part I hate doing...okay, I'll tag a few, but please forgive me when I don't tag 6...
