Today I had my first male belly dancing student. A young guy, in his 20's. Looks like a soccer player raised on Wonder Bread, but he did pretty well... It was a first for him too. He said he was going to come back with his mom next week. I'm thinking, I need to meet this woman!

Here I am on a dream vacation... yoga dancing dancing yoga dancing...! I'm here for five days and I was a little worried when I signed up for Ashtanga yoga classes each day, because I'm usually sore from an Ashtanga class for at least a couple days afterwards. So far so good. Today I had yoga, two belly dancing classes (Rachel Brice is as nice as everyone says she is) and an Odissi class (which kicked my butt and was so cute at the same time).

after almost four years i have finally figured out a way to take a shower while my kids are awake. my five year-old is a monkey, like curious george, and i never know what he is going to do to himself, our house, his little brother, etc. when left to his own devices. so, i've only been taking showers when my partner is home, or at night, which makes my hair look terrible, or taking my kids to the gym and working out (and paying for child care) just so i can get a shower. but now, i set the ...

Alisa has a beautifully serene and giving nature. She is also a kick butt dancer! I have known Alisa for over a year and a half - we met in Megan's Friday night dance jam at Maple Street Dance Studio, took a class from Flo together, and eventually I took classes from Alisa at Farfesha Studio. She is a great instructor and helped me understand a lot of where different moves came from and started as, as she teaches mainly ATS (and other fun stuff). We performed together my first and second tribal performances - she is a great calming influence! Before I left for the great north, Alisa and I went up to Santa Fe on a little trip to dance at Pomegranate Studios - it was such a great experience. I have really enjoyed dancing and being friends with Alisa. In my dancing, she has helped me discipline my movements, while still having lots of fun!
