The Saga-y Bed
Sat, February 10, 2007 - 2:05 PMOur bed frame arrived and it didn't have the specifications that customer service assured us it had. These specifications have to do with the number of slats, or T-bars, which support the mattress and box spring. Let it be noted that the mattress warranty is voided without a minimum of 5 slats, which we were assured this particular bed frame we had ordered had. The bed frame arrives. It only had 3 slats/T-bars! And, the icing on the cake, it has obviously been put together before and either returned or is some sort of floor model... yeah, it has been put together and taken apart not once, but twice! This is made apparent by the guide holes which were not properly placed, causing whomever put the bed together, to drill special holes... count 'em... six screws, and 12 fresh holes with improper placement. (sigh....)
After speaking with customer service, who informed us first, that the bed had been discontinued, only to later learn that they had brought out a new model that does have 5 slats/T-bars and that the 3slat/t-bar version was what was really discontinued and that we would be receiving this bed frame, we learned that it is on backorder...f#*ck! After Steve's sweet talking, and my disbelief at the reality of this 'Taylor curse,' he informs me that customer service has promised us a temporary bed in lieu of them sending us our new back-ordered bed frame. haha... this would seem to be where this saga ends... but that would be too simple.
Customer service returns the call and offers to pay for a simple metal bed frame, at the cost of $100, until the back-ordered bed becomes available. Steve is currently on the phone with the store we purchased the mattress from, telling them that the store we purchased the bed frame from is going to pay for the "temporary metal frame" and try to get it delivered today.
And so, our story comes to a close, yet sad to say that it is but "to be continued," and is likely to turn into a mini-drama of sorts. Until then, cheers.
