burning man 2007

so i'm finally going to burn.... many years in the dreaming.... already wishing i was arriving with rolls of images, treats to share... but it will be me, compact with some brushes & various paints for objects and people, boots for dancin', eyes for drinking in the madness&beauty', ears to feel, and a heart & spirit ready to absorb and give.......... not quite sure of where my base camp will be - am still lookin for the right spot... but as i'm a first-timer i'm not so sure how it works... i trust tho that the best way will be shown.... anyone inspired to connect & or share their thoughts/idea's/advice with me ahead of time is very welcomed and pre-thanked :)!!! :) ....... cheers and blessings........ amanda new painting::::: 'Birth of a Planet' oil and casein on canvas, 2007 (120x80cm)

soon my first show in quite a while will be opening... all the work that has been developing over the past 9 months or so... incubating.... eggs.... dreams, memories and visions... opening doors, reflecting.... still much to be done.... off to the studio with me:) Solo Exhibition at Galerie 10 in Vienna.... the only thing that seems to keep reaccuring that i seem to notice very clearly these days... is change... constant constant change -- hum and thats nothing new... and these moments of standing still with nothing but sweet summer breeze, memories, dreams and visions blowing restlessly thru my hair. Focusing in the midst of change... multi-tasking... the taste of movement on the road, in the air.... time to stand somewhat in the same spot and focus - yes i want this... but movement is so tempting - no movement in different ways... i think of the movement i feel when water runs down my body- how it free's these little receptors to dream of fabulous things.... what does that inbetween space look like - between there and there - what does here really look like and what are it's possibilities - i'm so good at distracting myself...why... um but this is the musings that turn into visuals ---all a part---- *photo: me & the bean in Chicago....

The Comfort of a Fan

so, since this is the thought section, i'll just share some thought - or maybe not, maybe it's un-thought...hum trying to get myself to the studio, hot day, no fan there, fan here. suffering under the first day of the monthly bleed - wanting to be like a cat and curl up and just be - already did that though. wondering who is going to read this - ;) funny thought- going to finish painting my big women - hard to explain, paintings need to be looked at, wordly descriptions feed the personal fantasy. finishing things is the hardest - when oh when is it done? i should listen to my own preachings - the painting will tell you when it's finished.
