Junk food fever...
After days of eating chicken soups, and fruits, healthy snacks, and drink TONS of water, for some reason I just want to pig out. I ordered stuff from Pizza Hut and will eat them while watching movies. My husband is out to a friend's party and I just want to chill and rest as my navel is sore still and I want to be as rested as possible before I go to work on Monday. They didn't find endometriosis around the area but they found multiple uterine polyps (as my Dr. describe as a "mess" but he cleaned them up and came negative from Pathology). They are not ruling out endometriosis but if I have it is not too bad.
I am not sure if the pain will reduce after the surgery but he did a WHOLE check up to everything OB/GYN related and there's nothing I should be scared of, which is cool.
More details will be discussed in a later appointment and we will go through some treatment but seems things will just improve from here.
For now, pizza is coming!
Tribal Fest is H-O-T!
In more ways than one, I may add...According to the thermometer in our car it was 100 F by noon, and a toasty 109 F by 4:00pm. I took 2 workshops today and that didn't make things any easier heat-wise.
I mean, I am a freaking Puerto Rican and my skin was RED! The last time I felt this hot was when I went to Australia - where the ozone hole is pretty much on top of your head.
On the bright side, workshops were awesome. First one was Shakra, the one I probably was expecting the most as I fell in love with them at first sight last year. I still in love. I got quite a few cool moves that I am planning to incorporate in a choreography I have been working on. The secon was with Kajira... Enough said ;) :)I am sorry that I have this tendonitis thing in my hand. Kajira was usingg a lot of arms and when I keep my hand up for too long the nerve bothers me. Of course, floreos are out of order. But when I just couldn't do it anymore I took notes. You always learn and I would say I did 75% of the workshop. I did some zills, probably a mistake but I SO need to practice those so there...
At night we watched "Underbelly" a bellydance documentary featuring Princess Farhana. I met her today (even I really didn't introduce myself properly) and gee... She is so fun, and nice! Then finally came back to the hotel and took a NICE shower to watch the news and see that California Supreme Court lifted the ban for gay marriage. I am not gay, but (especially through bellydancing) I met lovely couples so in love that happens to be same-sex couples. But they love each other so much! Why they can't have the same rights to celebrate love the same way I do? I thing there's a LOT to celebrate!
Also, please... Bring some ice cream...
The road back to school...
... started in a very good way.I got my grade from my Principles of Epidemiology class that I took in Feb-Mar. It was tough as the fire, my hip thing (that seems endometriosis), and all that stuff came at the same time.
So it's an A-.
I never understood why the minus or plus thing but whatever... I passed the class with a good grade. I think I will be OK when I go fully back to school. Yay!
PS: First day of hand therapy. It is sore and fingers a little numb but hopefully it will be OK.
Who owns the Island??
I am at Starbucks browsing the internet. My husband is having an ambulatory procedure so I decided to kill some time waiting somewhere else instead of in the office watching info-commercials. They call from the office to let me know how things are. Isn't that great?Anyway...
While waiting a lady with a lovely puddle dog. I asked a couple of questions about her dog (was really cute) and at some point they mention a breed that is from Havana, Cuba. I started talking about weather and dogs and eventually I ended up talking about which island is closer to Florida in order. I was saying that the island of La EspaƱola, that has Haiti and Dominican Republic is probably the 2nd closest, if you don't consider Jamaica.
And then she asked: Who owns the Island?
I stared at her and asked: I beg your pardon?
She says: Yes, who owns La EspaƱola?
I say: Errr... Hmmm... Well, they are independent countries
She asks again: Really?
I say: Hmmmm yeah... Haiti was a French colony, Dom. Rep. was from Spain as Cuba and Puerto Rico.
She was nice about it and was glad to learn something new but seriously, I wish I didn't have to explain these things.
Fortunately I didn't have to explain that no, you can't drive to Puerto Rico. You would be amazed about how many times I need to explain that one.
DAMN!
The bus ran late and I ended up missing my train... So I couldn't make it to bellydance class.Damn! Damn! Damn! Damn! Damn! Damn!
*sighs*
So back at home, bored and wearing my exercise clothing...
I guess I should pull out at least a bellydance DVD and catch up a little...
Oh well =S
