about me
I generally go by Analae online.

You can find me at various places, such as the Pagan Knitters Forum, LiveJournal communities such as Raks_Knitty and my own website, www.analae.ca. My great loves are knitting, jewelrymaking, and tribal fusion dance. I know how to knit and make jewerly but am still in the learning stages of tribal fusion. I also enjoy spending time with my best friends, my cats, and my husband. I'm a 9-5er in an administrative support environment. I'm a pagan and am in my tenth year of (often solitary) study and celebration.

My Blog

The sewing bug has bit and it's hanging on tight.

I completed the bra I mentioned before, and I've also done a skirt. It turned out even better than I envisioned, so I am spurred onward!
Many of my ideas involve creative wrap pants. More to come on that front soon, and maybe even a picture or two. Maybe I might, one day, get my website going; wouldn't that be novel? ;)

2008 has arrived and brought me a whirlwind of activity. In addition to the sheer number of costuming ideas that I'm fairly bursting with, I have some upcoming performance opportunities that are going to keep me extremely occupied for the next six weeks, in addition to the two workshops I'm also attending - Ariellah in Toronto (Jan 26-27) and Orkideh Serpentina in Ottawa (Feb 16).

I'm not entirely sure where I'm going to get a couple of the things I need in time for the end of January, s... read more

I had a fantastic weekend. An exhausting, over my head, too much for my knees, too little sleep, incredibly awesome weekend.

Kami Liddle is a great teacher and I would love to take a workshop from her again in the future. All around my region, the buzz is simply that no one can say enough nice and appriciative things about her and her time with us. As it stands, I won't even master what she taught in the next year (I took extensive notes - If anyone who attended the workshop forgot to take... read more

Okay, life? A little crazy. It could calm down any time now and I wouldn't much mind. And planning my wedding isn't even the reason. I seem to have overextended myself in almost every way somehow (actually, nix the somehow, I know exactly how), and I'm trying to catch up. It's the last class of the session tonight and it's going to be a long hiatus, which makes me sad, but at least I know enough now that I can keep myself going independently. I have a few good practice companion dvds and my e... read more

I've spent the last ten years trying to find my niche on the Internet (well, that's not all I was doing, but anyway), and Tribe is the best I've ever found. Not only am I able to keep in touch with members of my local community, but I'm learning from people all over the world and finding more, new and better ways to appreciate and expand upon the art and lifestyle that is dance. I've never received such a response as the one I got to my recent post regarding my first major costuming piece and... read more

Lissa/Crafty (my craft blog)

This was the beginning of the Pirate Mittens I’m knitting at Anne’s request… I got fairly far, but there was no way at all that they were going to fit. I blame my stubbornness with the yarn - Patons label gauge is so far out of my realm that I should really just give [...]
