a profound experience

Ecuador was amazing, suprising, and profound. We took a bush plane into the deep rainforest, where there are no roads, to live with the Achuar and learn how they use 'el bosque,' the forest around them as grocery store, pharmacy, and church. Lots of hikes into endless green expanses, punctuated by, "Hey, look at that amazing animal there!" Trading Spaces, Massage Stylie!

I'm totally excited! I went apeshit planning and shopping to make the PERFECT massage space. My new office, on Telegraph Ave, is now officially THE BOMB. Apparently, those hundreds of hours watching 'Trading Spaces' weren't a complete waste of time!

DJ Jazzberry presents...The Merwin Show (9-12 noon today)

Merwin Adylette Turner is my grandad. He has alzheimers and lives in a nursing home in North Carolina. He no longer recognizes anyone, and has trouble remembering how to swallow. Yet he says he is awaiting the direct train to Alaska (which he swears passes through the backyard of the nursing home).
