This was a good one.

I went to see my friend Enrique's play, Learn to be Latina, in the Golden Thread Theater Company's reOrient Festival at the magic Theater. The play is a hip, witty, stylish look at ethnicity and Hollywood. The production is strong and engaging. It runs for one more weekend at the Magic Theater. Don't miss it!

In other news, I saw the new Pride and Prejudice this weekend. While Keira Knightly is never gonna be my idea of Elizabeth Bennett, she does manage not to get in the way, and there are lots of other performances to enjoy here: Donald Sutherland and Judi Dench, not to mention the Mr. Darcy, who SMOLDERS, I kid you not. The film is visually messier than the TV one a few years ago, in an ok way, not so manicured. Anyway, I heartily recommend it.

Ah, Elizabeth, I confess I envy you. We should all be so lucky...
