Kiss Kiss Bang Bang Yum Yum

Robert Downey Jr is a true genius. I really hope he pulls it together and lays off the snacks, because he has so much to offer. I am still giddy from laughing so much. Val Kilmer is funny as Gay Perry, private dick, and Meghan Monaghan has some fine moments as well. The story is a little thin, it doesn't pack the wallop that Tarantino does at his finest, but you could do a lot worse than the bowlful of belly laughs that this movie serves up.

We need more of you in our lives, Robert. Come back to the Five and Dime, Robert Downey Jr, Robert Downey Jr....

Also, the guy who gets shot near the end of the movie in the abortive Russian Roulette episode is played by an actor named Evan Park, who was in my class at the Drama School. He played the Ghost and the Player King in my production of Hamlet. He is the only actor from my class to make it into Hollywood feature films that I know of (he was also in Cider House Rules.) And it just goes to show you that sometimes, once in a while, nice guys don't finish last. Evan had the biggest heart of the bunch, and it seemed to me was a little neglected when it came to casting. So I couldn't have been happier to see him in this. I hope we'll be seeing more from him before long.
