Eriba!

Here she is finally in all her purple glory. Having been biege since we got her we finally got round to getting the paint job done. I had plans to embellish her further with go faster swirls and stuff but just going to enjoy the purpleness for a while.
The inside is getting there too. Finally we can lie down on the bed with out falling down a gap. I am nearly finished insulating the roof with beach mats but ran out so waiting for another order from ebay.
I am becoming a real Eriba nerd I know but isn't it so cute! Can't wait to get on the road this summer and do the festivals in style.

Busy Weekend

We did (Lucy, Ashleigh & me) Conscious Monkeys Trance Night at a club in Newcastle on Friday or actually Saturday morning as our first set wasn't on until 1am! I am pleased I had a nap before we left cos these old bones would never have coped. It was an absolutely amazing buzz though. First set in Chill out room slow and fusiony then another set completely improvised dancing with glo balls to the DJ. It was so fast! But they loved us, so that was good and we have been invited back to do it again which is even better.
Watched the sun come up as we drove home got 3 hours sleep then off to the Newcastle Green Festival. The sun shone for the whole 2 days which was fantastic. We slept Saturday night in our little caravan. Waking up in Leazes Park in Newcastle city centre was an experience. There was a family of geese wandering round the lake with a line of little ones and not a charva in sight.
Tribe Zuza went down a treat despite competing with paper mache trees that had been beautifully made by a local community group as stage dressing. We were stopped countless times by people asking 'were you on Britains got talent?' Its amazing how many people watch those programs!
Got a decent nights sleep back in my own bed for a whole 8 hours, what luxury! Now begins the build up for Raqs next weekend .
You know when people used to ask me 'what do you want to do when you grow up?' I never really knew but I think I am actually doing it now, how lucky am I! Does that mean that I have finally grown up though? I suspect not, I think I still have some way to go on that one.

Trinny & Suzanna

Forgot to mention if anyone is able to suffer the 'Great british body' programmes this week, you might just catch a glimpse of some Tribal dancers in the background. Well that would be Tribe Zuza. I was approached by the TV company and asked if we would like to be guests and dance for them. They sold it to me on the basis that it was all going to be about positive body image and building self esteem which I feel very strongly about. The 2 ladies in question were seen on morning tv the day before we were filmimg talking about getting naked. Well this had never been mentioned to me up to this point.
We went along anyway dressed in all our finery only to observe them bullying people into agreeing to getting their kit off. We were interviewed by the pair but when we made it clear that we had no intention of getting naked they became rather rude. We left the proceedings soon after when the plaster cast penis' started getting passed round. For goodness sake we had dancing to get back to!

Its festival time again!

Yay! Big ones and little local ones bring them on. I love summertime! (and all its unpredictability)
Doing a night club spot on Friday at a trance gig. Really looking forward to that. The down side is we are not on until 1am. OMG I will have to have a bit of a cat nap in the afternoon to make sure I can stay awake.
Then its the Newcastle Green Festival on Saturday & Sunday, the student troupe have become regulars at this one. It is always a good time with lots of lovely people, music and mayhem. It's always a good place to spread the Tribal vibe.
A x

Not really kept up to date with this blog thingy!

May be this year I will make time to post a little more but always seem soo busy or soo tired!
Just been lucky enough to spend New Year in Marrakech where it was hot and sunny most of the time, a welcome break from miserable weather here in UK!
Did some shopping while there which is supposed to be for the souk but I need to get it out and look at a bit more before I can bring myself to part with it.
We travelled up in to the mountains which were stunning, visited the most beautiful oasis but did not see any dancers! Well, it is therefore necessary that I return in order to continue my search, the summer festival is evidently the best time though I am not sure how I will cope with the heat?
Happy to be back dancing here at home all my classes start again this week. It has been a good rest but I do miss it!

December 10th 2006

Well this is a first, blogging I mean! I am not sure what I will choose to share with the world, if anything but as I am just getting to grips with this tribe.net thing I am trying out all the options available. So watch this space or not as you wish.
