It's never too late to be what you might have been.

really?
boy, I am such a cynic! Logically this does not seem to hold true. On your deathbed it would seem to be too late to be what you may have been. Of course, if you die, you may have died earlier in your life and so, technically speaking you have become what you may have been THEN, in otherwords, DEAD. Somehow I don't think that's what she had in mind!

aw geez
let me guess...the John Lennon song "Imagine" does nothing for you? but it is logical because even if you were on your death bed, if you change your heart and your mind, you can become what you might have been. it's about changing on the inside, ebeneezer!

ba humbug!!!
There's nothing illogical about Lennon's "Imagine" lyrics, actually they are quite logical. Heaven, hell, countries and possesions are all mental or social constructs, they are not in and of themselves real or concrete.
As for a change of heart on one's deathbed it sounds very Christian. Are we judged by what we feel or by what we do?
I like the idea of putting it off to the next life....a procrastinator's ultimate dream!!!

But then, Rob, if you let the next life off the hook by ataining your truest self now - imagine what you can attain in the next.... at least you won't be repeating the same mistakes....

repeating mistakes
Lynn, there is something to be said for repeating mistakes....it is only through repetition that one can perfect something, and I think I might want to perfect the mistakes I make before I move on to other things.....not to mention that you learn from your mistakes and therefore the more times you make mistakes, the more you learn! ;)

you know, I never quite thought of it in that context before - perfecting my mistakes in order to achieve maximum learning.... hmmmm - it flows easy for a self-proclaimed perfectionist... like soco on a sore throat...
