This is the longest I've visited my brother and his family. I realised before this visit the longest I had spent was 9 days. Right now we're up over 3 weeks. I head to San Francisco next Wednesday to do my Maid of Honour duties. It's been such an awesome visit. Having so much time with the kids has been good for my soul. Catching up with dear old friends I haven't seen in years has been healing and reminds me of my roots. My brother and I have had some good talks and haven't fought at all. That is a first for us. It's awesome. I know Mom is smiling down on us, thrilled her kids are finally getting along and treating each other with love. I'm no longer trying to change him and instead try to treat him with compassion and acceptance of who he is. It has made all the difference in the world. We laugh about our differences, share what we have in common, and actually listen to what the other is saying. This trip has been very healing and such an unexpected pleasure. I am so blessed.
